Deer hunter shoots llama by mistake

AUSTIN, Minn. -- A llama had to be destroyed after a hunter in southern Minnesota mistook the animal for a deer and shot it.
Police said the man was hunting south of Austin Saturday morning when he saw a deer run into a cornfield.

It hasn't happened in awhile here (Vermont) but every so often some out-of-stater would come up to a deer reporting station with a Jersey cow strapped to his trunk.
Some of the farmers took to painting "COW" in large orange letters on the sides of their Jerseys.
