36 Americans were captured in an Industrial neighborhood yesterday on board three tanks and three armoured jeeps, when the Mujahudeen encircled them, isolating them from the rest of their column.
Leaders of the Mujahdeen Column of Fallujah have announced as a part of their information struggle against US troops, 'resistance' fighters had filmed occupation prisoners being held inside Fallujah.
The prisoners who were filmed numbered 36 and included some women US soliders. All were captured in Fallujah's industrial zone Monday morning.
Abu Asad, president of the Council of Mujahideen of Fallujah announced to Mafkarat al-Islam's correspondant that after filming the American prisoners, they gave the film to Al Jazeera and Al Arabiyah satellite TV stations.
The two stations refused to air the tape for 'security reasons.'
In fact they were afraid of American reprisals against their stations if they were to broadcast the videotapes, as previously happened to Al Jazzera after they showed film of US prisoners at the start of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Regardless of their reasons, this is a deviation for both networks. It is expected that visuals will be posted to the web in coming days.

I have a hard time believing they would just get out of their tanks and surrender. They have to know what these people do to POWs.

I thought Marines would fire until their ammunition gave out and then fight with their rifle butts. It's hard to believe that mujaheddin could take armored vehicles. This must be nonsense. Right?

Seriously, why are women on the front lines in a battle like this? Is there a shortage of enlisted military people? I would by lieing to say that I'm not a little ashamed of myself right now...

In the "coming days" these vermin "insurgents" will all be dead.
Seems a bit unlikely that a trio of M1's and three uparmored HMMWV's, armed with everything from individual weapons, medium and heavy machineguns, to three 120mm cannons, would surrender to 20 guys in pajamas. And I doubt there are any female GI's or Marines involved in the Fallujah combat operation.
