OK. So I'll buy the CD. Make it. If you make it, they will sell.
The licenses come from Creative Commons, the innovative nonprofit founded by Wired columnist and Stanford Law School professor Lawrence Lessig. The songs on this CD use one of two Creative Commons licenses.
I'm so sorry to hear this! I LOVE your Fantastic Work! Maybe some other kind of prospect will open up for you, such as someone writing original songs, etc.
I don't doubt that, but I guess its still illegal...as I'm finding out.
Bommer,
If you are interested in collaborating with a songwriter let me know. I have made one video, but I am not a video guy. I am a musician who hired a director. I have the skills and equipment to produce original music tracks but I need somebody to do video. If you follow my pings you will find a link to my video, and find out a little bit about me. The transmission is not as good as yours, but the original DVD and Beta tape are high quality. I also have it on mpeg, but it is too big to email. If you are interested in working together I can mail you a disc.
In addition to having seen "The Man" before it got pulled, I just watched "Kerry's Bad Rap". That was pretty good too. The MSM sounds like a good idea for a video. You could probably get away with using some footage of the news on that and claim fair use since it would be commenting on what they are broadcasting. You wouldn't even need alot of lyrics, if any. Let them stew in their own words. Have you seen the movie "Stolen Honor"? It was words out of the mouth of John Kerry that made the POWs case. That's why he didn't want it to be aired even with rebuttal time allowed.
Very sorry to hear Bommer. I sure did appreciate your hard work.
God Bless you FRiend!
Just thought of something..."Fair Use" is fairly broad. Any FREEPlawyers know if this would come under fair use?
Those videos were great! I really enjoyed the songs to go with them, I sent them to friends and family and they enjoyed them as well:)
Thank you for your work. I cried when I first watched the Gonna Live what I believe video and laughed like a fool when I saw 'Blue'. I hope and pray your gifts will be used in some area that is both profitable and rewarding for you. Thank you for the great moments you gave to us. God Bless you really good.
Hope you can get em posted again, but I would dump SBC in the meantime!
'Its not a case of hosting it, its a case of they own Johnnys, image, voice, and all rights to him. I didn't get permission for the rights, so they shut it down.'

nah, forget them, I was just going to get the Johnny Cash cd for a Christmas present because I liked "The Man" so much, BUT NOT NOW!!
I'm already thinking of your NEXT one, your OPUS on the MSM!
lol!
You know what the worst thing is? I had never heard that song before, and we were planning on finding the album it was on and maybe buying it.
I guess not now. Maybe I can find somewhere to download it.
Ahh, I understand I guess. But it sucks that the whole site was shut down.
No ones suing them.
Bad stroke of luck there bommer...the vids were great while they lasted!!
Who was the singer of the "Live What I Believe" song...the Johnny Cash song was obvious of course...both were great songs in the context that you utilized them, and the video using the same music from the movie Patton was cool!!!
Russ Lee was the singer
I'm very sorry to hear that.....I really am. You did good work.
Well....at LEAST we all got to view them during the important time....prior to the election.
Rats!!! I KNEW I should have acted quicker, but the DSL has been down, and even BLUE wouldn't load properly on dial up. I can't stand not having made copies of "When The Man Comes Around" and "Live What I Believe" (hypothetically speaking, of course). This is bad!!! I'm so sorry, after all your hard work.
