Well that's kind of like the car down the street that I can buy real cheap because the person selling it has no legal right to be selling it. AS your house was built by laborers subsidized by taxes, by all rights I should have part ownership in your home.

by all rights I should have part ownership in your home. You do. I pay $6000 in property taxes every year. That's your share (you have to divide it with others though). You also get a cut when I sell it from all the taxes on that transaction.
Don't nobody in this country flat out "own" their home.

Like the local law enforcement's selling of cars or other property confiscated from people (sometimes not even convicted) who were caught transporting drugs or large amounts of money?
