It is the mothers who have the abortion not the politicians. The Church has to concentrate on changing the 'hearts and minds' of the mothers and the politicians will follow.
The Church has to do it's job and not off-load it to politicians. Perhaps at the same time they could take on shacking up.

Didn't over 50% of Catholics vote for Kerry? What were they thinking?

What you are referring to - are those "baptized" as Catholics and never went to church again except on Christmas and Easter. The church know about these and we always pray for them so that perhaps someday they can see what they are. Catholics are taught to love (1) God, (2) their country and (3) themselves as their neighbors. This is the sequence of love. If they change the sequence they better face the mirror every morning.

One of the most offensive things I've seen recently was Ahnold's 60 Minutes profile where he mindlessly claimed to be pro-abortion and pro-embryonic stem cell research and pro-embryonic cloning -- even at the expense of pro-life taxpayers, but had the audacity to dismiss criticism with a "Hey, I go to church every Sunday!"
Puke on the One-Term Terminator and the corrupt LA Archdiocese that allows him communion!

Before the Church can address the scandal of pro-abort Catholics, the Church must cleanse itself. Bishops such as Mahony, McCarrick, Gumbleton, Brunett, Gregory, Flynn, and numerous others must be put out to pasture. As long as we have bishops who lack the moral courage to follow and enforce Church teachings, the scandal mongers will not be dealt with.

There are no true Catholics who believe in abortion.
If someone does not believe in the canons of the Church nor in the Holy Bible, they are NOT members of that Church.
Clinton and his anti-Christ cadre (john what's-his-face, kennedy, etc) fall into the scumbag lawyer lies of "it depends on what the meaning of the word "IS" is."
Wouldn't it be nice when all lawyers have gone?

Seems to me, it's time to lobby the USCCB. We spoke at the polls, now, let's share our thoughts with the bishops, especially as they prepare to elect a new President.
USCCB LIST OF BISHOPS
And, just in case the bishops need a little nudge, you can quote the Catechism.
RIGHT TO LIFE
2270 Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person -- among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.
