Nov. 10, 2004 -- Leora Dowling and her husband thought returning from deep in "red" America to her native New England would make them feel more comfortable, more like the people around them shared their values. Since the election, she's been contemplating another move. To Italy.

"After the election, my husband and I asked ourselves, 'How could our country be heading backward? How could so many people miss or choose to ignore the obvious failures of the Bush administration?'" the former Florida resident said.

No, no, no, no, no! I never said anything about
loozing ground! The northern border is w/ Canada.
It shall stay as such. The M-1 would be parked on
liberal heads at the Un of Vermont! I am so sorry
if I was unclear on this point. Please forgive me.
The ground stays...the libs go.

Thanks for the invite, but the only way I'd ever leave my beloved Appalachians is feet first.
My kinfolk have been here since the 18th century and we'll stay here forever, if only for spite...:))

To all those angered by the election:

We are not a country of people led around by the nose.
We think for ourselves, we investigate, we find who is telling the truth, and who is not. That is the way it has been and we hope to keep it that way.

We know that the MSM has an AGENDA, therefore cannot be trusted, and without collateral evidence, should not be trusted. It has always been this way.

We know that France, Germany, and dozens of other countries claim what a BAD country this is. They try to influence the citizens and leaders in our country and tell us we are wrong and should change. That we are 'prisoners' of our government.

But... those same people will sacrifice their own children to be able to escape their own country and live in the United States. They will risk their own lives to move here.

The voters who supported Kerry are angered about the Bush Supporters because President Bush, and many of his supporters based their choices on "MORAL VALUES". It is these same "MORAL VALUES" that protect those who support KERRY.

It is these "MORAL VALUES" that keep us from SHOOTING YOU IN THE HEAD, just because you are IGNORANT, that allow Hollywood to make "EYES WIDE SHUT" and allow you to go see it. It is these same moral values that let you LIVE, when BORN, even if you are FEMALE,unlike CHINA, where females are aborted AFTER BIRTH, automatically.

So, if you don't like our MORAL VALUES, I have a long list of countries you could move to. Problem is, they won't let you in. If they did, they would kill you within 2 months. If they didn't manage that, you will die of starvation soon after anyway. So, go ahead. Move out of the U.S.

We will pray for you, anyway. Because that is who we are.

Y'all got any mountains in Alabama?
I've been to FL via I-95 and couldn't see a decent hill anywhere.

[When I'm in the flatlands, I can't *breathe*]...LOL!

"We were leaving anyhow, mostly because we want to start a family and we don't feel our children can get a decent education in the United States," said Brian Sinicki, of Laramie, Wyo.

Brian - Try a private school instead of a government school. No sense in leaving the country when you could find a decent nongovernment school. Yes, it will cost you, but it will be worth it.

They should go to France, where teachers are still allowed to slap children in the face as a form of discipline. That will definitely appeal to their liberal sensibilities.

Alabama is the southern end to the Appalachian Chain. Mt Cheaha is 2407 ft above sea level and the highest point in Alabama and Mobile is below sea level. I wouldn't call 2407 ft a mountain but it will pop your ears. The Little River Canyon in Alabama is second only to the Grand Canyon in US canyons.

Hunting, fishing, and all outdoor activities are in abundance here. If you like foo foo culture you'd hate it here.

They have been brainwashed over the years. Everything is our fault. The USA is always at fault. They got the jolt of their lives when Bush was elected in 2000 and then again a bigger jolt in 2004 when he was reelected.

The American public has spoken. The people have spoken. We reelected George W. Bush because he CARES about the country and the people. This country is NOT just for special interest groups.

Those who choose to leave should indeed leave. They have that freedom and that freedom was given to them by all of those who have fought for all of us in the past and are now fighting for the freedom of the Iraqi people. They can and never will understand that kind of thiking because they can't think past what someone else tells them they should think and say.

So, I say Bon Voyage. And...as one Freeper(sorry I can't remember who it was but want to give him/her credit) wrote...when they find out their destination is not what they thought it would be and realize America is the land of the free and the home of the brave and are ready to come home, all they need to do is close their eyes and click your heels three times and say: There's no place like home, There's no place like home, There's no place like home! However, they won't get to that place cause they won't leave...guaranteed. :)Whew. I know that was one heckuva long sentence. :) Sorry. :)

Happy Veteran's Day to those who gave their all and to those who came home and to our troops fighting today. God bless them all.

First, even John Kerry said that there are no losers in America because, when we wake up the next day, we are still Americans. They sure paid attention to his speech, didn't they?

Second, Italy is an important member of the "coalition of the coerced." Is she sure she wants to live there?

They're much better off in France or Germany.

Yes, it's so much easier to run away than to actually PUT FORTH SOME PHYSICAL EFFORT to change things! Go, please, go...yours is not the attitude that made this country great.

She was probably one of those Disney-fied "kid power" children who were raised on the same pap that I was. If only you BELIEVE enough and CARE enough, all your dreams will come true!

Luckily for me, I discovered that if I only STUDIED hard enough and WORKED hard enough, my dreams would come true. I've left many of the friends of my youth behind.

Please, if you don't like the way things are going and you don't have the intestinal fortitude to do anything but b**ch about it, by all means, LEAVE!!!

Okay, rant over...
