"40 veils"

Shouldn't there have been 72 veils - one for each virgin? Where did the missing 32 veils go?!?! Omigosh! Did Bush lose those too, by outsourcing the job?

I've said before that we likely won't know the whole story of chem/bio weapons in Iraq for some time.

It is established fact that the programs to develop chemical/biological weapons did exist and facilities were found by the Kay group to confirm this. This is in the Kay report.

It is also understood that stockpiles of these weapons may well exist, but the stocks don't need to be on the order of thousands of live shells, but more likely on the order of hundreds. Chemical weapons have certain serious logistical issues of their own that preclude one from wanting to have any more than absolutely necessary on hand at any given time.

If we *have* been finding various amounts of chemical artillery shells (Sarin, VX... whatever) then the *last* thing we'd ever want to do is admit that we're finding these things in some of the tens of thousands of ammo dumps all over Iraq. Then it would become a race between the good guys and the bad guys to find and remove the materials.

Better to live, however uncomfortably, with the myth that there is nothing out there to be found. Meanwhile we locate sites and destroy the materials as fast as we can.

I dunno. Just my thoughts.

Look at what one vial did to the Japanese subway. Back then the MSM reported just how bad that stuff was. Now....not a peep.

While further analysis determined that the find was probably part of a Soviet [or US] test kit with samples,

Now how can that be? In a letter to the Editor in this weeks Washington Times, Russian Ambassador Yuri V. Ushakov stated that "All of them (Russians)left the country (Iraq) at least 12 years prior (to invasion).

There have been WMDs found, but they were found as a 7 pound block of sodium cyanide, or shells with a gallon of sarin, or empty drums on the banks of the Euphrates.

What would it have looked liked if, instead of finding the weapons in dribs and drabs like we've been finding them, we found what we found so far as a single stockpile?

How would that have been reported?

Anne Garrells (sp?) of NPR has been reporting this since Tue or Wed - she's apparently embedded with the Marine unit that found the briefcase.

Her coverage has been rather interesting, because she was in Baghdad just before and at the beginning of the war, and I really felt that her coverage then at least verged on anti-American, if not crossing the line.

I can see Sean Hannity on stage now looking at the MSM, "Here liberal, liberal, liberal, is this a weapon of mass destruction? I submit to you evidence sample (A):SARIN GAS". Ask Japan if they consider it a weapon of mass destruction.

Bet a lot of things will be found in the near future. The enemy can't keep these things hid forever.
