What "arrogant statements" has he made to the press recently?
I honestly don't believe that the man who fought for Clarence Thomas is really going to make himself that much of an obstacle in a Republican dominated Senate.
Especially after he's been put on notice ahead of time.

The question isn't whether Specter has learned his lesson. He hasn't. Rather, ask yourself why such an important committee assignment should go to such a sleazy individual.

Excellent point. Perhaps something will derail Specter's chairmanship between now and the time the Senators vote for chairman.
