Back when I worked in Sierra Leone, the Ivory Coast was a relative oasis of civility.

Africa is regressing at an astounding rate top to bottom.

I'm glad you've reconsidered your earlier posts on this thread. And I'm also glad that I've seen the videos and read through the entire thread before responding to any of your earlier posts.

There is every indication that this was a senseless slaughter of unarmed civilian protestors. Something we may not have seen could have triggered it, but there's little doubt that the French responded with indiscriminate fire mowing down unarmed civilians.

The whole world is angry at the US for one of our Marines shooting a terrorist faking his death. In context, what we see here is something worse, by a factor approaching infinity.

Took me as long to download it as to play it....on Comcast.

A) No idea why these troops opened fire, the vid gives no indication beyond "crowd control".

B) Saw some dead or dying girls that looked like kids.

C) I swear I heard a group of young men shouting USA USA !!! to the troops about 1/3 of the way into the tape.

D) Some of those wounds were made by larger caliber belt fed weaponry whether conventional cartridge or cannon style ...hard to say. I'm guessing the stationary guns on their armour and I have no clue what the frogs carry.

E) Sad and gruesome. ..and this is Ivory Coast...whew...one can only wonder about other areas. The de-colonization of Africa has killed it. Hope the do-gooders are pleased.

I think they were chanting: liberté which of course is Freedom in French and has 3 syllabls and when spoken with a french tonque with African accent, sounds an aweful lot like USA, USA. I could be wrong :).

I finally got my comp working this morning.

65.13.147.18:6969/

It shows it's seeded and published. I'm not home to verify it is functioning and my workstation can't access BT.

Maybe I can rework my old comp into a dedicated BT comp. Just BT and XP.

I can't down load the pictures, but even if I saw them, I would not condemn French Soldiers under fire and harms way, for doing what they feel is neccessary to their survival. I do reserve the right to be mad as hell at the French and anyone else who condemns our troops for doing what they must to survive, in a savage situation where they alone are held to rules written by pious bastards who were never in such a situation.

Just a suggestion: Let's be careful not to point the finger at the Muslims of Ivory Coast for the political unrest. I confess to being totally ignorant of the religious dimension of this conflict and I am reading to overcome this deficiency.

This article is from the AP and thus most be taken with several hundred tons of salt, but it may shed some light on the religious situation in Ivory Coast.

Ok, great. I got part 2 last night, and in my 3AM drunkenness I managed to delete it (I think) lol. I'll grab it from you as soon as I finish pulling down part 1.

Thanks ;-)

What this is, is France's definition of "imposed peace" that the French Foreign Minister was crowing about the other day.

I sent that address to the French Embassy and asked them for an explanation and we will see if the French cover it on their Channel 2 tonight.

I also sent the site to the German Embassy and asked them if this is an example of the EU's view of compassion and human rights program.

"I'm sure Dan Rather and Mary Mapes will be all over this on 60 Minutes 2 this week!"

It will be interesting to see if any MSM even mentions it.

Libs aren't interested in facts, even when shown before their eyes.. libs are only interested in hanging on to their skewed view of things no matter what.
