it took a long time to load, but i finally got it all and watched it. there is a crowd of people milling about. you can just barely see some mitlitary vehicles in the distance and you can see a tank just beyond the crowd just before the shooting starts. you do not see any commotion or threatening behavior. suddenly the shooting starts, the camera person is moving and not shooting video for some time, presumably running away. then the shooting stops and the camera shows the dispersed crowd and you hear the confusion and distress in the voices. then the camera shows the people tending to the wounded, some unconscious and some apparently dead. near the end, the camera shows a man who head was blown partially off his body now lying in a pool of blood. this is the most horrifying picture i have ever seen. finally the camera shows the french military vehicles leaving the plaza and driving off into the distance. then we as shown some united nations autos on fire.

this video showed no apparent threat to the French. it would seem that the crowd was blocking their intended path thru the plaza area, but its really not clear what caused the French to open fire.

does anyone know what the French have to say about it? is there an investigation? has there been any indication that the French government is going to do anything about this?

it looks like an inexcusable and horrifying application of military force against a peaceful gathering of civilians.

Ivorians Deliver a Wake-Up Call To White House

By DeNeen L. Brown
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, November 20, 2004; Page C01

On the edge of the Ellipse, beyond the circular sidewalk that hugs the iron gate that hugs the trees that hug the South Lawn of the White House, 38 people stand single file, chanting for freedom. "We want French government to get out of Ivory Coast! Africa belongs to black people! We need French to get out! They killed too many Ivorians so far!"

Grabbed it in under 20 minutes with a Comcast Cable connection. Averaged about 85 KBps.

Here is a French TV report with some clips from the video and an interview with some military frog. About 17 MB - RealMedia.

definitely intense !
so many women shot...
very certainly white French soldiers on APC's
Tricolor flags flying as they depart.
Saw no guns in the hands of the Africans.
Not warning shots , heads blown off...
Then they drive away , no aide rendered whatsoever.
Last scene = UN vehicles burning.

This should be widely published
Sending it to Human Rights Watch
and Amnesty Int. right away.

why not?

Man it is so refreshing to see a group of people chanting "Jesus" and holding up Bibles for a change as they demonstrate isn't it? They are likeable folks that's for sure.

As for France, well the only thing good thing I can say about France is - "Sophie Marceau".

Here's an Ivorian with a gun that might have started something.

Here's the ultimate limp-wristed, girly french soldier.

The video shows some wounded civilians but not the armed gangs among them (like the Palestinian terrorists). They tried storming the french base. What do you think have happened if they would have succeeded? They would have hacked every white in the base to pieces with their machetes like they always do in Africa.

The smiper sure as hell wasn't the only one shooting. There sounds like at least 4 people were shooting, one being that guy that was pointed out by the pole without a helmet with a famas.

Here's the mass media reply :

LINK: http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/africa/11/06/ivorycoast.ap/
who's headline reads "Ivory Coast mobs clash with French".

LINK: http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20041107-125851-3115r.htm who's headline reads "Mobs attack French in Ivory Coast:

I just found it to be as poetic justice that the only sign of aggression and vandalism from the "mobs" was the burning of none other but a UN van!

Believe or disbelieve the video of a massacre.
Whatever, the French government are suppose to be peacekeepers, they seem to be making the situation on the ground worse. The Ivory Coast Government believe the French wish to keep their holdings in the country, the cocoa trade.Back before the Iraq war when the supposed civil war broke out....actually it was a Coup attempt while the Ivory Coast Pres. just happened to be in France on a state visit. The Government of Ivory Coast believe the french supported the coup attempt, me I dunno who can tell what the French are doing and why..... Doesn't it strike anyone as ODD that the UN can within a few days of this latest round of fighting came out with a resolution condemning the Ivory Coast Government and placing a boycott on them? There has been, since March of this year some 70,000 Sudanese killed , now thats Genocide in my book. Yet what actions if any do we see regarding Sudan? China and Russia are still allowed to sell the Sudanese Government weapons...
There has been no real action by the UN to stop Sudan from it's genocide. The Ivory Coast is in turmoil because of a coup attempt and a civil war with one of the main antagonist the Government believe (the French) given the powers of peacekeeping. A recurring theme between these two countries is their Muslim populations. Sudan committing genocide, and Ivory Coast the coup plotters and insurgents. Would France take the side of the Muslims against the Christians just for money influence and power? Would the UN dismiss the Sudan problem and yet boycott the Ivory Coast Government just because of Muslims? Think about it

The "global test" only applies to America. I don't see Europe or the MSM moaning that France has taken an arrogant stance because they didn't get the world's permission to act. If you're a member of the UN, EU, or some other officially sanctioned liberal/Marxist/communist/muslim organization, it's okay to do something like this out of frustration. In contrast, America gets cursed because a wounded terrorist in Fallujah gets whacked after shooting at American troops.

This has to be the greatest human rights violation since Tianamen Square. I'm too disgusted for words. It is our duty to make sure that the media reports this. O'Reilly hates the French - send it to him first. After that, contact every news organization you can. This simply can NOT go unreported.
