Gopod idea. Know how to publish one? I have a small server that can host it if it's not too much trouble.
They are fairly easy to publish. The tracker is the biggie. I don't know what kind of resources go into a tracker, but I can imagine them getting pretty robust for the larger groups. As far as I know all you need to get a tracker started is the software, and it's free.
