I'm always suspicious of the videos claiming civilians were shot for NO reason. The video starts off with a pretty calm gathering of protestors, then there's an edit, then the shooting begins. Who shot first, the French or someone in the crowd? There's no way to tell.
Without context, the video is useless except for ogrish.com fans.
Do you see anyone with a gun?? All i see a whole bunch of dead women on the ground.
Well, I didn't spot any guns or other weapons in the rather long, unedited sequences of those who'd been shot.
You nailed it.

I agree, this video proves nothing.
Croud milling about, shots fire heard, (no shooters seen), and a bunch of wounded and dead people laying about being tended to by other people who's sole medical training seems to involve ripping the shirts and bras off women.
Late in the film you see troop transports driving away, flying the tircolor, but no indication they did the shooting, they weren't even in a particularly defensive posture. (Not helmets, no rifles brandished).
A UN car burns.
This looks like a hack job, and doesn't prove a thing about who shot who and when.
The breathlessness of the way it was presented here make me thing this is a con job. Much as I dislike the French, there is nothing here that says the French did anything except drive by.
