If he is going to act as a substitute Jesus a false christ making up the rules this would be a disaster
I have really not heard of this guy before he does reside near San Francisco and is married. A Teacher..
I see great potential harm coming from this misguided movement. Soon, all efforts to protect anything referencing God or biblical morality in the US governmental system-- from the pledge of allegience to prayers in Congress-- will be labelled as an attempt to create a theocracy "just like they're doing in South Carolina."
I disagree. County government is very strong in South Carolina and they could certainly effect a county or two, especially if they concentrated on moving to a remote area.
That's what I'm afraid of...that they may be targeting some rural spot for a Branch Davidian thing...
"Not so fast, my friend. They could influence local races and perhaps state house seats."
Very doubtful. These little splinter groups are even less influential than, say, the Libertarian party, which doesn't manage to do much of anything at all.
Since South Carolina already has plenty of Christians as inhabitants, an influx of one more sect of Christianity would be unlikely to have much effect at all.
If this group numbers in the hundreds, I'd be surprised. But, even if it is in the thousands, how many would actually make the move to SC?
Sound exceedingly silly to me.
What makes you think they are any different from the Amish, Mennonites, Quakers, Shakers or Mormons who have, and in some cases still do, establish separate communities?
/sarcasm
I guess it's the "neo confederate" thing and the "secede" thing that sorta gives me the willies. We aren't talking Mennonites, here. Google up Cory Burnell.
This guy is a secessionist, too. Maybe he can tell you where he's gonna park his double-wide.
"The entire state"
A bit too far east for a private Idaho, isn't it?
Think Utah.
