I'll wait for it (SAW) on dvd. sounds good.

I thought SOTL was lame...it did nothing for me. I own Manhunter and its better...also I though Hannibal was better than SOTL. Better in a story sense...it gave more depth to the Dr. than was previously known.

Friend of mine had the closed captioning on watching Donnie Darko.

The last line in the movie (easy to miss on audio), is the police scanner saying "Return to base frequency".

ACK... Manhunter blew fat chunks! Well, maybe not, but I still didn't like it. I liked the more recent version, Red Dragon better.

it scared me so badly that I put the DVD in the garage.

Did you remember to make a copy of it? No? Now you're gonna die!

My bad. You said garage not garbage.

I returned the DVD to Blockbuster.

Yeah I caught that. I may have been watching it with closed caption at the time but I remember the line.

In the DVD there are several commentaries, one in particular is a documentary like conversation between two representatives of Jim Cunningham's company (I forget the name of his company). At one point in their conversation, one of the reps starts to babble and becomes belligerent. I have no idea what that was about.

I saw Alien on the Gridley back in 1979. It was showing on the mess decks, which was right below radio central. When the thing burst forth from the chest I said what you said - that's it. Got up and left. Later on I steeled myself to see the whole movie.

I thought Aliens was a lot better - maybe more of an action flick than horror. I saw the Exorcist when I was 13-14 years old and it did nothing. Same for The Shining w/Nicholson. If both were made like the books were, they would have been better.

The first Halloween movie was very scary. I do not think there is hardly any blood - if at all. The scene where Jamie Lee has stabbed Michael in the eye and he is dead on the ground. She is comforting the children and behind her you see him get up. That was scary to me!

This was not a movie but who remembers Night Stalker, the made for tv movie. That was suspenseful and scary.

No one has mentioned it yet but it has to be one of the scariest movies EVER.

"The Apartment" made by Roman Polanski, who stars in the film. Peerless for its mood and psychological thrill

OMG! I was just reading through the thread, thinking that mine would be "Alien" and somewhat gratified to see all the other "Alien" comments and then I saw your post!

You are right! I think I was so freaked out by "The Apartment" when I saw it, that I had completely blocked it out of my memory. Probably because at that time in my life I was living in an Apartment similar to that one....

I'm running away now to try to forget about it again.... ;^)

The Ring (only watched the 2nd half and didn't sleep for days)
The Exorcist (scared the living CARP out of me)
Children of the Corn ( I was young and stupid, has no effect now.... )
The Omen
The 1st Nightmare on Elm Street ( One, two he's coming for you....CREEPY)
1st Halloween
1st Friday the 13th, for some reason sequels do not scare me.
13 Ghosts (the remake, never saw the orginal)

Oddly enough, I LOVE these movies
Silence of the Lambs
Seven
Hannibal
The Red Dragon
and I can not wait to see Saw.

Happy Turkey Day!

There's one scene in Saw, where the saw is unseen. It's called the unseen saw scene.
