According to Newsmax.com, who are America’s 25 Best Stars?

Any conservative who wants to vote at the box office for conservative minded actors, and against the liberal Hollywood liberals, here is a list of actors to support:

Mel Gibson – what really happened to this megastar when he dared to produce “The Passion of the Christ.”

Tom Selleck – why he has not been afraid of standing up for Ronald Reagan, even when it wasn’t in vogue.

James Woods – he turned his back on Hollywood’s peaceniks to stand up for the war on terror.

Patricia Heaton – a crusader for family values, this actress would not give up her values for her career.

There are many more stars NewsMax salutes.

You’ll find their stories and why we rate them “America’s Best Stars.”

They include: Andy Garcia, Gary Sinise, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris, LL Cool J, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar, Dennis Miller, Denzel Washington, Robert Duvall, Catherine Bell, Danny Aiello, James Earl Jones, Ron Silver, Kelsey Grammer, Morgan Brittany, Ben Stein, Pat Boone, Kathy Ireland, Rick Schroeder and Bo Derek.

Proves my point. When he took an interest in politics, he lost interest in acting. I don't believe -- contrary to popular wisdom -- that his acting career "failed." I believe his political career began and acting was pushed to the side.

Robert Duvall is one of ours?
If so, I am very pleased.
I've always liked his work.

Kathy Ireland designs rugs. I have several oriential rugs by her that are very nice, so you all can support her that way. (And she was hot in those S.I. swimsuit issues.)

I see that, once again, my all-time favorite conservative show biz type -- the brainy (and hysterically funny) Michael T. Nelson, of Mystery Science Theater 3000 fame, has been inexplicably ignored.

"Well, let me say this, I read the National Review cover to cover. Check in at Townhall.com every day. Check the Washington Times daily. Listen to Dennis Prager and Michael Medved on a regular basis. Read Mark Steyn with regularity. Read the Weekly Standard. So, yes, I do vote Republican. As the pundit Hugh Hewitt has observed, there are indeed two Americas: Serious America and Silly America. The Democrats seem bent on turning this into Silly America, so I stick with those who wish this to remain Serious America." -- Michael T, Nelson, interview, MST3K REVIEW site.

I hadn't heard that Reagan's acting career "failed."
Nevertheless, he was an actor with intelligence.
Luckily he did find something more important.

I think your idea of associating lack of intelligence with acting might more accurately be applied to those who think to find freedom on the left. 'Course that describes most actors, so maybe you're right.

Funny how the Dems consistently and dishonestly label the more popular conservative presidents as stupid. I've heard both Bush and Reagan referred to that way by folk who should know better within the last couple weeks.

Reagan may be our only president in a long time who understood and believed in the ideals of our founding fathers. I guess that makes him stupid to a leftist.
Radical too.

Reagan's career was on he wane, probably due to his increased interest in politics. However, as one actor who was interested in "acting history" explained it to me -- during the late 40s/50s there as a split in acting styles between the older actors and the new guys coming up. Brando was among the first of these new guys. If you're interested in this kind of thing, rent an older movie from the 40s, then a new one and compare acting styles. Interestingly, you can see glimpses of the new style in White Heat with Cagney.

Morgan Brittany

WTF is Morgan Brittany? I think maybe the writer meant Brittany Murphy, the young blonde starlet who is most recognized as Ashton Kutcher's ex girlfriend and the voice of Luann on King of the Hill. She stopped by the USS Nimitz (CVN 68) to say hi to some sailors. I was on the USS George Washington (CVN 73) and the best we got was Tiger Woods for a couple of hours while he was going to Dubai. Man, his Swedish girlfriend was hot!!!

James Garner is also very nice. Wonder what his politics are?

I understand he is a very nice man. However, I'm under the impression that he is a hard core lib. I'm sorry I can't site you the references. Perhaps from previous magazine interviews I've read.

Yes, you are right. Delta Burke and her husband are republicans but believe me, so is Dixie Carter. Dixie's character on Designing Women was very liberal. I heard her say in an interview that she was nothing like her character. She said that she has always been a conservative.

"How many conservative actors have been "Red-Listed," by the same Liberal hypocrites that whine about McCarthyism and "Black-Listing."

One of my favorite actors was Gary Oldman...who was riding high as a Hollywood favorite for several years. Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I can't recall seeing him that much since his public lambasting of his movie, "The Contender" and the producers at Dreamworks who turned it into an anti-Republican film just before the 2000 election.
