If it is private property, the owners may apply this kind of restriction because it is their property...

Agreed. But do they have the right to enter the cars, which are not their property?

I am sorry to inform you, but the law takes precedence over any company bureaucracy.

Big city corporate attorneys are at the heart of this since they are the ones at corporate headquarters who advise the CEO on liability.

It will be interesting to see which conservative principle wins here: private property, or the right to bear arms.

That doesn't even hold true Mike......Unless it's posted & a gated restricted access "parking area" as your vehicle is an extension of your home. Even in Texas I may leave my firearm in my vehicle at schools , sporting events, hospitals, public parking areas for city, county , state , federal office buildings etc and places that post a proper, legal sign telling me it's illegal to carry in the structures or the stadium etc .....

If the parking lot is not gated and entry is controlled by a gate guard force then even the parking lot is legal to leave yer firearm in your locked personal vehicle.

The only other legal possibility is to make your employees sign as part of their employment agreement that their personal property and vehicles are subject to search and the following list of items are prohibited...... if any of the items are found on the list it's grounds for dismissal and disclipanry action to include suspension without pay and termination of employment.

Anything less must be in compliance with state laws.......Oklahoma will win this pissin match per what precident has been established IMO.

That's just how it works around here......buts it all water under the bridge as a disgruntled employee is gonna shoot the place up regardless of any paper laws implied or in place........

In some states the automobile is considered private property of the individual and is not subject to search without a proper warrant.

This is a similar thread about some bozos in N.H. who thought they had a right to open carry in private retail businesses..they don't!. You don't like your employers policy about guns, go work somewhere else and stop whining!
