Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, at HBO's official 'Sex in the City'

Thanks. Don't have HBO, don't want it (own many, many videos/DVDs), have heard of Sex in the City, never watched it.

And horsefaced "actresses" don't do it for me. No wonder I never heard of the character, huh?

"Dobie Gillis was a "typical" American teenager, with three primary interests in life: Beautiful women, fancy cars, and money. Unfortunately he was the son of a grocer and not the most attractive of boys, which put a certain crimp in his aspirations. Dobie and his beatnik buddy Maynard, to who work was a dirty word, did their best to get by with a minimum of effort. Dobie had two real nemeses in life. The first was intelligent but unattractive Zelda Gilroy, who was constantly trying to get herself married to Dobie."

Yup Magnum captured something in most guys from the era.

FWIW Bellisario (sp?) is, I believe doing it again in NCIS - I love this show. Mark Harmon is great! Last week's episode with Charles During who played a MOH recipient from Iwo Jima was some of the best TV I have seen in awhile.

Yea I know it C-BS but it is a bright spot in TV waste land.

The first question Steve Allen would ask Don Knotts was "Are you nervous?" He always answered with a short high pitched "nope!"

Louis Nye was real funny as a MOTS, as was Bill Dana.

Good choices! I loved the Amos and Andy show.

It's a shame Amos and Andy will never get the recognition that it deserves. Sanford and Son was a direct descendent of this show.

Alrighty, I confess. #13---Buffy, my fave! As a 40-something gal, I never thought I'd be saying this! I got addicted to Buffy this summer, when my local video shop carried the entire series in stock. I rented one disc and watched with my 14-year old son, and we both fell in love with the storyline and the characters. Buffy is a complex character---a simple girl, chosen for greatness, and the wonderful humor lies in the fact that she is such a regular teen, with all the foibles and failings that interfere with her greater calling. The musical episode, "Once More with Feeling," is the best! Don't judge unless you've watched at least 1/2 of the initial season.

Of all the shows I've mentioned on this thread there is not one that you could not watch with both your grandmother and your grandchildren....and none of them made a list that has Sex in the City.

but I do like "Prisoner No. 6" as played by Patrick McGoohan (sp?)."

Hey there. It looks as though you have at least one fan. LOL

The Ann Southern Show
The one with Bob Cummings as a photog & his gal Friday, Shotsy (She later played the maid on Brady Bunch)
The Peoples Choice
The Great Gildersleeve (He was the water commissioner and was played by a guy named Waterford.)

One time Knots wasn't shaking. Steve asked "what's wrong?" Knots repied,"I had a nervous put-together."
Tom Posten was also a MOTS
