Poor guy -- a second bad break. I do hope the Senate Republicans find a way to get this fine jurist into the Federal judiciary.

A young woman who is a customer service rep at a company I deal with died in her sleep at 27. The cause: a brain aneurysm rupture. She left behind a husband and baby.

Uhh, no offense, I'm sorry his wife died...

But we don't need another single supreme court justice worried about being unpopular with women (Kennedy). Keep him off the court.

I wish you would explain your statement about keeping a person from being appointed to the Supreme Court because he is now unmarried. Single or married, what does it matter? I think that you should have a better reason to keep a qualified person from nomination than what you post.

Very sad. God rest her soul and comfort her family. We know not our time. My little sister died unexpectedly on her 34th birthday and left two babies. We've never been sure what killed her. Possibly Hodgekins Disease.

I wonder if Kennedy and Schumer have sent their regards.

Miguel and Laury have been my good friends for over 15 years. My wife and Laury were best friends. They attended law school together and both clerked for the same judge on the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. We saw Miguel and Laury get married in Birmingham and have stayed in touch over the years. That Sunday afternoon phone call was one of the saddest days of our life. Laury was a fine woman and lawyer, and it pains us that we will never see her again.

My wife may be one of the readers at the funeral on Friday. Pray that God will give her strength. More importantly, pray for Miguel. It's a tough time for everyone.

Allegedly Kennedy changed his mind on overturning Roe due to the "threats" of Barbara Bush. She basically convinced him he would be dethroned as the most eligible bachelor.

Last thing we need is a justice worried about his sex life over consitutional issues.

I met Laury when she recently came to Alabama to be with her mother in the hospital. I was her mother's phsysician. We became friends and found that we had graduated from Alabama at the same time. She was one of the warmest, good-hearted, and interesting people I had ever met. She wanted to show her appreciation for what I had done for her Mom. She and Miguel took my wife and I out to dinner one night and we had a wonderful time as if we had known each other for a long time. I only hope that Miguel is able to continue along life's path without her both personally and profesionally. My concerns also lie with her mother who depended on Laury. It is likely that she may, by now be mentally infirm enough to not know Laury is gone. That would be a blessing. As a physician, I do have an interest in what may have happened to Laury to have ended her life so prematurely. My prays are for the whole family and may Laury's soul rest in eternal peace.
