This is not very good journalism: "A South Korean woman paralyzed for 20 years is walking again after scientists say they repaired her damaged spine using stem cells derived from umbilical cord blood. ... US researcher holds a box containing vials of human embryonic stem cell cultures." The cord blood is rich in embryo built stem cells. But can you get that from the wording?

They make it sound like this woman is doing handsprings thanks to stem cell therapy. From what I have heard, she has to use a walking brace.
I'm not sure what that is, but I would like to see some video before I hailed this as a great breakthrough.

How does it work? Do they have to remove the damaged cells first? Splice the stem cells in? Any suggested URLs to visit for further enlightenment?
