Former American fugitive Marc Rich was a middleman for several of Iraq's suspect oil deals in February 2001, just one month after his pardon from President Clinton, according to oil industry shipping records obtained by ABC News.

Well, well, well. What have we here? Yet another Clinton scandal? Nah, couldn't be. He was the best President in history! [/sarcasm] (as if the tag were needed)
I guarantee that any papers that Kofi has access to have been shredded. Any other papers will never make it into the hands of Paul Volker or Norm Coleman.
There is no way that Kofi Annen did not know that his son w.as involved up to his eyeballs in this. Also, since there in no one person that Annan has to answer to, there is no way that he will be leaving. I also, believe that Volker has no desire to get his hands dirty.
I respect Norm Coleman and I admire his persistence, but I
am afraid it may be futile. I also hate to say this, but I have a feeling there will be quite a few people on Capitol Hill that won't be too unhappy if this goes no where. Follow the money.
Oh, for the love of all that is holy, WHY WON'T THESE PEOPLE JUST GO AWAY?!?!
Big shock there.
We're getting multiple threads. The story has finally broken big, so we will see 100 or 1000s of threads as time goes by.
Rich was in Switzerland, though.
I say send "Dog" Chapman after him!
There's also the matter of CNN covering for Saddam for years, wonder if CNN employees got rich.
Is Kofi the type to fall on his sword or will he take down others with him? He seems weasley to me.
This is just to juicy if its true. Has to be a big black eye for the Klintoons and the democRATS and lets not forget Hillary. This could doom her chances for 2008. Lord please let it be so. Parley
That's why there's no whistleblowers. The Clintonistas are everywhere and well-timed "accidents" do happen.
Or already have.
American's role?? It's great to see the unbiased MSM on the job. One American criminal is caught with his hand in the Oil-for-Food cookie jar, and it's "American" involvement?
Whoops, wait... as of January 20, 2001, Rich isn't a criminal any more, just another law-abiding US citizen who happens to give millions to the DNC... my bad.
When this came up on the news tonight, my husband asked why Kofi wouldn't take the millions he probably has stashed somewhere from his cut, and just leave now. He wondered why he would let himself be in the line of fire.
I told him - POWER - that is all I can say that would explain Saddam letting himself be found in a hole in the ground, instead of capitulating to the UN, also power is what kept Arafat living in a rat-hole that was bombed by the Israelis for the last years of his life instead of taking the billions he has stashed and going to a resort and living large. Personally, once I succeeded in stealing all that money, I would be gone, gone, gone, who needs the grief? You know what I mean?
Sorry-- I forgot to answer you question--
I don't know.
No, really, I have a feeling that he feels that he has enough "insurance" (knowing where bodies are buried) that he will just deny, deny, deny. I mean he has already stated that he DIDN'T KNOW THAT HIS SON WAS TAKING MONEY!!
If he is sure that the proof has all disappeard, then he will just distance himself and try to convince every one that his hands are clean. I gotta say though, in a lot of countrys in the world, lying and cheating is an honorable way to do business.
Clinton said given all that has happened, he would not have pardoned financier Mark Rich
but only because it cost him a lot of personal grief and not because it was the wrong legal decision."I was slimed," he said of the bad publicity that erupted after the pardon.
"Maybe I should have pardoned him two years before I left office so I would have had a
chance to fight back." - NY Post
"Slimed". Uhuh. It worked for Bill Murray, and Bill, you're no Bill Murray.
Treasonous weasel, maybe.
Well now. Some old familiar names finally. Clinton, Rich, who else will show his face?
