The most resourceful method to promote immigration reform is to argue and frame the debate in terms of "sustainable population". Expansion of the entitlement base erodes social security, medicare, medicaid, HUD, green space and parks, water, fire, sewage, etc. When the elderly come to believe this year's 17% spike in their monthly medicare premiums is due in part to immigration (illegal and otherwise), the environmentalists tie pollution increase and diminishing green space to overpopulation, parents and taxpayers realize school boards are shelling out 33% more for non english speaking students, and when minorities are threatened with loss of low paying jobs (construction, lawn maintenance, etc) and welfare entitlements, then we will see the paradigm shift where the fear of loss of benefits overrides the fear of being labeled racist and bigot. Unfortunately leadership in Washington perceives taking this stand compromises their electoral hopes. The level of support is not yet there due in large part to a media that refuses to frame the debate in terms of sustainable population...they like viewers and business likes cheap labor. Yea, I too see the death of the American dream.
The US Taxpayer buys it for them with minority loans.
It was KALIFORNICATE B4 Mexi-fornicate anyway.....
It's much bigger than that. I'm convinced Republicans turn a blind eye because 1) Social Security and Medicare will fail much faster than has been predicted without illegal workers helping to prop up the system and 2) Vicente Fox has warned that Mexico will end up suffering another revolution and become a huge Venezuela-like Communist state if the illegal immigration safety valve is not maintained. With our forces preoccupied in the Middle East, we have no choice but to acquiesce to his demands.
But there is zero excuse for the LAPD and other local police forces refusing to enforce the law due to political correctness. Safety valve or not, illegals who engage in criminal activity should pay the price.
My uncle here in Kansas sells some property. Most of his buyers are now "immigrants". It began about 5 years ago when he sold some property to a hispanic guy from "Texas".
He was able to pay $80,000 cash for the land.
But he was unable to provide a social security number, or any documentation.
The title office eventually sorted it out, and my uncle's property was sold to the legal son of our "immigrant Texan".
When my uncle spoke to the county folks, they said about a third of the "immigrants" that are buying property have absolutelt no documentation, but they will use the wife, or kids numbers to avoid "hassles".
Thus an idea was born!... Buy the worst property you can for as cheap as possible, and sell to the illegals for cash.
You too can profit on the end of America!
As sick as that sounds...
Ya see, the immigrant families pool their meat packing paychecks, or money from less legal trades, into a pot. Then they can pay cash money for really run down property, fix-er uppers, or trailers. The government is in on the program, so no one bats an eye, or even finds the situation disturbing anymore. They actually want to pay cash on crap homes/trailers to avoid "The Man".
Also, there are programs here in Kansas, and other areas hit by the immigrant wave, that help the "undocumented immigrants" obtain financing for homes. Of course, legal citizens, like you and I are excluded from these programs.
These programs are provided on the condition that the recievers of the no-down, extremely low interest home loans "work on" getting their citizenship. Plus they get junk houses occupied.
There's no follow up re: citizenship, but the argument is made by our government types that by "helping" these poor souls buy houses in America, they will assimilate better into American society....hehe, yeah, right.
We have until the end of this decade to solve the illegal immigrant issue. If we don't tackle this now, America will function like Mexico or Brazil by 2020.
Yup, I'm glad I'm long gone from LA.
That's what I was going to suggest.
Great article. Wake up folks.
Peter Jennings needs to go live in some of these neighborhoods. He'd change his tune real quick.
