What does any of this have to do with the "American Dream"?

The American dream is to work towards happiness for yourself and your family, while living in freedom. This article describes the greatest challenge to that dream and the silent danger to that freedom that grows nearer with every passing day. We are subsidizing poverty, crime, illiteracy, and in the process we are turning all of those illegals into big fans of socialism (if they're not already) because they see this as such a great deal. We are knee-deep and getting deeper into socialism and ensuring that we don't turn back by continuing to allow a flood of future Democratic voters into this country.

The crazy thing is that if anyone proposes building a wall along the border, putting armed border agents on top of it and putting a mile-wide minefield in front of it, then you're deemed a nutcase. To me, that's like calling someone a racist or bigot because he does not want to support illegal immigrants by providing free health care and welfare to them.

So what's the solution? Passing laws or reforming our immigration system won't solve it, because these people don't care about the law - that's like passing gun laws to prevent shootings. Eliminating all of these socialist "entitlement" programs would be a big first step. Unfortunately, there is about as much chance of that happening as there is of building a wall.

That is the reason for the article's title.
