No, the solution is to build new universities

Save some time and money; "commandeer" some existing ones.

It is not at all clear it saves either. Often it will just botch the job, riddle it with compromises, or bog it down in endless fighting. The left knows the politics of institutional infighting and grievance activism. But they can't build a thing.

And our culture is quite friendly to people who can really build things, that any appreciable number of others actually want. When Amazon wanted to change mail order and bring it into the web age, they didn't start by trying to revamp Sears and teach it to dance. Starbucks didn't take over McDonalds and change the menu to coffee and scones. Michael Dell didn't angle for CEO of IBM.

They just went and did it.
