Hello Canteeners,

I have a favor to ask.

I am on an e-mail list at work for Navy / Marine Corps vets. The guy who runs it is an ex Navy Captain. He is "plugged in" to the system and gets all sorts of interesting stuff.

What he just sent us today was a MS PowerPoint presentation done by the III MEF, USMC, on the recent operation in Falugia (sp?). It was fascinating. All sorts of pictures and analysis.

I think it should be posted here as a Thread in FR, but I don't know how. If anyone does and would be willing to post it, I will e-mail it to you directly.

Thanks,

Good morning Everyone.

Good morning to our AWESOME Military, our Allies and their families. Oh, did I tell you today that you are AWESOME? I did? Well, let me say so again! AWESOME.

I am here for my morning drive-by.

First, thanks to our own Pancake chef Spotsy for opening the doors to the Canteen this morning and fixing up a nice spread. She always sets a nice table!

I hope everyone to the west of me that got a dose of the high winds yesterday made it through ok. We are expecting the high winds today. Yesterday, the fog was so bad here in DC that I couldn't even see National airport or the runway lights from across the river. It was a plain, yucky day.

Oh, BTW, I'm sure many of you have heard the news of the arson hitting a new develpment in Charles County, Maryland by now. FYI - as the crow flies that development is across the street (a country street) from where we live.

Well, gonna go for now. I want to at least get in a few Hellos this morning before getting into the work pile.

Now remember, the Canteen is always open

So, come on in and sit for a while. There's alway plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS.

I found another purple item for you. This one is sparkly too! Caution - keep tomkow away from sparkly things. It sets him off.

Greetings, Canteeners,
FReepers, Troops,
and All the Ships at Sea!

And here's the morning report for Day Ten of Sarge's Most Excellent Adventure!

The usual start, for the meantime, of coffee and computer (sorry, no pancakes, but a stop at Waffle House before hitting the Haunted Armory is in the offing), and then hard at it again.

Not much has changed since the last report; we're waiting on word back from the CO and his gang from his meeting with the mob-site, and should get something today. Details will follow as available.

The transition from Analyst, to Recruiter, to wearing two hats, then back to Analyst again, goes along as well. Have to confess, that it's good to be busy, but not TOO busy, mind you...

Sarge will be in the area all day, so Let's Have Fun!

SARGE

DISCLAIMER: If you wish to be on/off Sarge's Canteen Daily Report, FReepmail with details!

Today's FEEBLE

YOKE :

Ms Feather was taking her time browsing through everything at Star's yard sale, and said to her, "TomKow is going to be very angry I stopped at a yard sale."

"I'm sure he'll understand when you tell him about all the bargains you found," Star replied.

"Normally, yes," she said. "But he just broke his leg, and he's waiting for me to take him to the hospital to have it set."

Prayer for a Freeper's Husband

Dear Freeper Friends, I would like to ask you for prayer for a fellow Freeper, fatima. Her husband had a heart attack yesterday, and I'm really sorry, but I don't have anything more than that.

Her little baby Granddaughter, Sara, is also in need of prayer. She's about 3 to 3-1/2 weeks old and has had to return to the hospital. She's had a spinal tap, a high fever and was tested for meningitis. Last I heard, she's not out yet.

fatima's got a PLATE full, to say the least! Any and ALL prayer for she and her family is coveted.

Thanks all!

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but this is an old Jewish folk saying:

"One should not stand at the foot of a sick person's bed, because that place is reserved for the guardian angel."

Happy Hanukkah
