They both share libertarian-minded views in common. Crichton has some good things to say about Peter W. Huber's conservative environmental manifesto Hard Greeen and Bjorn Lomberg's The Skeptical Environmentalist. The author of the techno-thriller is many things but being a leftist ain't one of them.
