Generally, the Kerries of this world are not (and cannot afford to be) Catholics or anything else from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, longer if the legislature is pulling a late session. So they are part timers only, per injunction against serving two masters AT THE SAME TIME.

I decided a long while ago that if these various Senators can call themselves "Catholics" - Kerry, Kennedy, Daschle, Leahy et al. - then I ought to be able to call myself "Senator". Of course, it's more important to be a Catholic than to be a Senator, but being called "Senator" is fun, too! Everyone should do it!
