Clint Eastwood's Daughter's Boyfriend Dies At Vail
Dead Snowboarder Identified
Dec 15, 2004 4:37 pm US/Mountain
VAIL, Colo. (AP) The body of a snowboarder found near Vail Mountain was identified on Wednesday as Michael Combs, 42, the boyfriend of Clint Eastwood's daughter.
Resort spokeswoman Jen Brown said Combs had been missing since Monday. His body was found late Tuesday morning in a closed area near the bottom of Vail Mountain.
Combs had been snowboarding with Alison Eastwood, according to the an Eagle County sheriff's department.
Ski patrol members and crews that groom the slopes at night had been looking for him.
Coroner Kara Bettis said the cause of death had not been determined. She said she was waiting for the results of standard toxicology tests.
Combs was from Calabasas, Calif.
Out of bounds, does it again.
Especially for snowboarders. Even downhill skis can provide a limited capacity for cross-country travel through deep snow. A snowboard is worthless in the bottom of a snow-filled ravine except to dig out a hole and hope someone finds you before you freeze to death.
I feel like hugging a tree today.
That's quite a headline.
Quite a reach...
My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Combs pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
Coroner: Boyfriend Of Eastwood's Daughter Died Of Seizure
POSTED: 3:37 pm EST December 16, 2004UPDATED: 5:30 pm EST December 16, 2004
VAIL, Colo. -- A Colorado coroner has determined that Michael Combs, the boyfriend of Clint Eastwood's daughter, died of a seizure disorder.Combs' body was found Tuesday in a gully just off a ski trail in Vail, a day after he had been reported missing. He had been snowboarding Monday with Alison Eastwood, but he didn't show up for dinner. Alison Eastwood told a sheriff's deputy Combs had complained of having a headache earlier in the day.
The Eagle County coroner said no foul play was involved in the death. The 42-year-old Combs was from Calabasas, Calif.
The sheriff's department says Clint Eastwood wasn't at the resort. His office released a statement saying the family was shocked and saddened by Combs' death.

I toppled into a small ravine at Vail (downhill skiing--inbounds, but remote). It took me 90 minutes to climb-out, a distance of about 20 vertical feet . . . and I was so exhausted that I was done for the day. My brother laughing at me the whole time didn't help.
Perhaps he might have been treatable had he seizured in-bounds.
You don't die of a seizure. It can cause a sequence of events but it is almost never the cause of death.
The seizure can cause a fall and a broken neck, a fall to a ravine where you can't climb out and then you freeze to death but it wasn't the seizure that killed.
The snow is so fine that you can sink in up to your armpits. I've got snowshoes the size of small canoes, and in deep Colorado powder I would still sink in up to my thighs. Wouldn't have wanted to be in that stuff without them.
"Dirty Harry" Callahan
Wow,,,seems the AP is really busy these days.
I would guess 10,000 other people died that day. They're less important than Clint Eastwood's Daughter's Boyfriend?
"I'm afraid that in his weakened condition, he may have taken a nasty fall, exposing himself to further absences."
Eagle Colorado....
why cant that town just hide
LOL. My thoughts exactly. One more apostrophe and I would have been lost.
