Okay, so how long 'til the left starts whining that we're violating the civil rights of captured Al Qaeda members?

the CIA is allowed to capture and hold certain classes of suspects without accounting for them in any public way and without revealing the rules for their treatment..

This is so old news!

I could have sworn I heard this ages ago when Gitmo was first opened. Why is this news now? Thanks for confirming what I thought I remembered. For a minute there, it seemed like a time warp of some sort.

I completely agree, and it sure seems like an unmistakeably written executive order would be a great way to undercut the Clinton admin leftist boll weavels in the JAG.

Furthermore, I can speak as one who strongly supported Bush's election and re-election, but who would not characterize himself as a "fan", when I say that, when I think of GI's who are at this minute having prosthetic limbs attached, major reconstruction, etc. while other GI's are being charged for shooting these Muslim scum-of-the-earth by blood just boils.

The ROE's should be clearly restated: any non-uniformed combatant should be killed on sight, by whatever means possible. If that means that the guy faking death on the street twitches, and then takes a half-dozen .223's to the head, so be it.

We are too far along since 9-11 for this insanity to be going on.

..Is there any doubt that this came from the rejects that just got the boot?
..

Hm....explains exactly why they got the boot doesn't it.

Well at least the leaks will not be on future info. Glad they are out of there.

Do I smell efforts by the CIA of setting the president up for impeachment? Maybe this is why house is being cleaned.

I agree with much of what you said - but I do want to make it clear....I am a huge admirer of GWB (as a man, as a President and as a leader) -

There is no doubt in my mind we have fought the most successful unconventional war in history (in both Afghanistan and Iraq) - However, within this success we have seen the filth of the JAG's interject themselves.....and with this we have not seen GWB come to the aide of our soldiers and put an end to these JAG's -

I am 110% behind all the legal CIVILIAN tort reform that is needed (and way over due)....however we obviously also need a form of tort reform passed immediately via executive order to deal with the JAG's within the military!!

What these JAG's are doing is simply shameful (lawyers are lawyers)

For a minute there, it seemed like a time warp of some sort.

This kind of thing has happened at least a half dozen times recently.

It is as if the MSM is trying to restart controversies because they feel like they just did not hurt the admin enough.

My memory is a bit foggy, but I believe this issue first came up when the International Red Cross was prevented from seeing a prisoner that they had been tipped off about.

The "order" was then revealed and the legalities and details were discussed.

I know it has been at least a year ago.

At least a year, though it seems more like 2 to me.

It's absurd -- but I suppose none of us is supposed to have the attention span of a gnat any longer so we really shouldn't even remember it at all.

I'm thinking.. (that's a very bad thing!)
Perhaps the Admin is merely waiting for the "final nail in the coffin" i.e, the "inaugural". Legally, morally and ethically on that date, whatever the Libs want... well they can keep wanting!
Let's be patient my friends,
Even the RINOS are about to get their behinds blasted.
We may disagree with President Bush and think he's out of touch... but I do believe..... my Brothers and Sisters, that the "down card" is about to be dropped.

All ante's are optional!

I am outraged that the islamos get a special facility at Gitmo. Why do they get the secret sauna, whirpool bath, and tennis courts? I don't have any of that stuff here in the good 'ole USA--and I'm a citizen who hasn't killed anyone (yet).

I'm outraged I tell you, outraged!

Nonsense. We are a civilized society.

We just prop their eyelids open and make them sit in front of a video loop of [Helen Thomas, Hillary, Janet Drano, Madeleine Albright] in bed.

With each other.

Actually, my uncle Augie knows these 2 guys in NY , Sal and Nunzio.Man, they have a way of getting info these 2 guys. They run a junkyard in Brooklyn but always have nice suits on. Wish they would hire them to go to Gitmo. I'm sure they would find all the info that's there to be had FAST!

"... We've got bona fide traitors serving in the Senate who are getting away with revealing state secrets and we're worried about soldiers posing for pictures with naked terrorists?"

Gutless Republican Wonders in the U.S. ...December 16, 2004

Excerpt:

Rush:".....This is the place, Senator Lott, where three Democrat senators blew up and committed a potential criminal felony by releasing the details of a covert, super-secret satellite spy plan.

This is a criminal felony. Criminal referrals have been handed out to these three, Jay Rockefeller, Durbin, and Ron Wyden.

Now, if the Republicans in the Senate had any gonads they would be on the prowl here trying to get these guys strung up for what they did, because you want to talk about defense and you want to talk about security, take a look at what's coming out of the U.S. Senate on the Democrat side.

Instead of piling on Rumsfeld, why don't you and the Senate leadership get together and realize it's the Democrats in the Senate who are the enemy, and not Rumsfeld. That it's Al-Qaeda who is the enemy, and not Rumsfeld. And just because McCain decides to fly off the cliff for personal reasons doesn't mean you have to follow him. ...."
