When I was a child and the school handed out those containers for UNICEF,I refused to even take one! I knew, even as a little girl, that this was an EVIL organization and would NOT do anything to support it!

The UN owes me a few hundred pounds of candy from the 60's. I spent three halloweens in a row forsaking all candy in search of donations, as my school had a contest every year.
Now that I see where all my efforts went and what they bought me, I want my candy instead.

I knew, even as a little girl, that this was an EVIL organization and would NOT do anything to support it! I was eight (1979). My idea of "world politics" was whether my best friend and I were fighting or not. Besides, the cardboard boxes they handed out was covered with photos of starving children along with a tract that said they didn't even have clean water to drink. To an eight year old, that's a pretty powerful message.
