General Wesley Clarke on Hardball now..
1/4/05

Posted on 01/04/2005 4:09:35 PM PST by Justaham

General Wesley Clark comments that President Bush should act as President of the world (world leader), not just the US, in times of disaster. He also denounces the president for not picking Carter as part of the tsunami fund raiser as he's one of the greatest presidents of the US.

Clark also commented that by GWB picking his brother, Jeb, to go to Southeast Asia to see the after-effects of the tsunami is in part preparing Jeb as a contender for the 2008 presidential election.

The show is still going and Chris Matthews just keeps pounding Bush on Iraq, that Americans are not confident with the government now, that US didn't follow the Geneva convention, blah, blah, blah.

Also, Clark is either ignorant of the accords of the Geneva Convention or he was intentionally distorting its provisions. Under Clark's definition, there is no such thing as an unlawful enemy combatant...only rights.

Weasley and his hollyweird son are in the midst of creating a reality show starring Weasley himself.

I kid you not.

Should just name it the TWO WEASELS SHOW

Or, instead of "Hardballs", "Nob***s"...

Well, it was just a thought...probably echoed by the 62 million+ people that voted for the President.

A loser of a "news show" has a loser of a guest. What a surprise.

I thought the U.N. was the world's moral authority? And when did I miss the election for a world leader?

Carter was a one term President. Seems the people didn't feel him one of our best. Since his ONE TERM he has helped dictatorships remain dictatorships, sat with Michael Moore and won the nobel prize because the committee wanted to bash Bush. I, for one, enjoy having him marginalized.

Jeb has repeatedly declined 2008. Until otherwise, I'll trust him to best know his own mind on what he will be doing in 2008. jeb was chosen because of experience with disasters, because G.W. can trust him, and as a symbol of our sentiment for the victims. Only the politics first crowd discerns this as an oracle.

Americans were comfortable enough with the Government to elect Bush to a majority vote and replace Dems across the board.

Terrorists are not bound to Geneva. Terrorists, not to be blunt, can go to Hell.

Like watching a trainwreck...

As to the profanity he uttered (and did not appear aware he'd said it and since he said it in front of Weasely Clark, he was not given a look of "you might want to check yourself"), let me give the context: Chris was talking about Clinton being so eager to help in this disaster effort and then Chris said something along the lines of he figured Clinton, when he agreed to take on the assignment, thought to himself "g**d***it, I just want to help" or some such.

You can imagine, he was rambling along in his stream of consciousness way and out he came with that gem.

LOL

Read cyncooper's synopsis of Chrissie and Weasley talking about Clinton tonight.

Cyn, that sounds downright snarky, doesn't it? Like maybe Chrissie thought Clinton wanted to do something on his own and Bush cornered him?

If so -- and if it aggravates Matthews this much -- cool!

I will be watching the rerun!

I really dislike that Katrina Vanden Heuvel chick.

I heard Laura Ingraham call her Katrina Vanden Evil recently and am spreading that far and wide as it's perfect.

What's with her pumpkin face color??

Bile.

In fairness to Clark (I know), he was responding to Chrissy's hyperventilating question if he didn't think Carter would have been a good choice and why wasn't Carter chosen, did Bush dis him or something?

If you're familiar with Matthews' interview technique you'll get the gist. Clark basically just agreed. He did not pull Carter out of thin air.

He did come up with the President of the U.S. is also leader of the world all on his own, though.

forgive me, this is not very nice, but Clarke seems to be in a serious need of a Bi*%h slapping....

For some reason I think he'd LIKE that a little too much. Something about him gives the impression that he fantasizes about being a prisoner at Abu Ghraib.
