God bless their souls.

One of the soldiers is from the same area of town as I am. I don't know him. I will keep on the lookout for any local news.

For each IED that kills an American, we take out a Mosque. Sooner or later there will be no killing or no more Mosques. I like the old Hammurabi code that originated in that area that predated Christ and Mohamed. Maybe the heathens will understand a heathen code.

I am tiring of watching my comrades die by the hands of cowards while we sit back and exact no revenge.

Is this the same blast that Drudge was touting as his main headline/story yesterday? Matt's headline was something like "9 Soldiers Killed in Iraq". I remember 6 being killed in the blast + 3 others in a different incident. I hope these 6 are not in addition.

As for the story provided here, The National Guard identified the dead as:

# Spc. Bradley Gergeron of Houma
# Sgt. Christopher Banin of Houma
# Pfc. Armand Frickey of Houma
# Spc. Warren Murphy of Marrero
# Spc. Huey Fassbender III of LaPlace
# Sgt. 1st Class Kurt Comeaux of Raceland

Prayers going up for all as well as their family/friends.

May God bless.

There's two elephants in the Iraq living room.

1) Support in the manner of men, materials, and financial aid is pouring in from Iran and Syria, maybe Saudi Arabia too.

2) Placing these IEDs along the roads cannot be done without the knowledge of some portion of the local populace. That in turn implies either some degree of complicity, and /or general terror of the 'insurgents' in the community.

These needs to stop. I don't care which means are used. Unless it's appeasement.

What a blow to Southern Louisiana.

A Guard unit from my town is being deployed this weekend. There were photos in our local paper. Many of these men are in their forties, with teenage children. One is a good policeman.

We are sending our brightest and best over there...

For what? Remind me. So people who don't want democracy, and haven't had it in two milennia, can vote?

So we can "fight them there so we don't have to fight them here"??

What if we have to fight them here AND there at the same time?

And our local heroes, policemen, firemen, EMT's--are being deployed. Who will be left for that elusive "Homeland Security"?

Is it really about the oil?
