Barbara Boxer knows she got -- at best -- no traction on her attacks on Condoleezza Rice. So why this delay and "debate" instead of letting Rice go on to do her job? Because Boxer feels the need to bludgeon Condi when she can't fight back. But much like the televised ambushes of George H.W. Bush by Dan Rather and Tom Selleck by Rosie O'Donnell, the attackers underestimated their prey, and their reputations suffered as a result.

I would like to thank Bill Jones for running a piss-poor campaign -- if it could actually be called one -- against Babs Boxer, making her the most-voted for member of the Legislative Branch in 2004. It's gone to her head, and now she thinks she's burning compost, if you know what I mean and I think you do, and thus is deserving of a national profile in plenty of time for 2008. If the Deaniacs take over the DNC, we will be getting so much Boxer that a Hillary candidacy will seem like a relief.

All of us Cal conservatives who wanted Tom McClintock for governor and, having failed that, for Senator, wish we could laugh at all you guys who said R-nold was the answer, and that Bill Jones was moderate enough to give Boxer a fight. But we can't. Hopefully, you have learned what we have always known: Never send a RINO to do a man's job.

L.N.--As an aside to the topic of the thread, I see by the weekend paper here in S.E. Michigan that R-nold (I like it) is in danger of losing his Austrian citizenship because he approved the execution of a California death row creep the other day. I can hardly wait for the assault to overthrow the Constitution so R-nold or our loser canadian governor can run for president.

Boxer used to be my Senator, too, but I moved to America last spring.
