Close to St. Augustine, 1 1/2 hours from Daytona Beach, 3 hours from Orlando, one of the safest cities hurricane-wise this year and past years, not as hot as Miami or South Florida (a better way of looking at it)...may I continue?

I moved to Jacksonville in 1969. We lived in a number of other places during my husband's Navy career, but Jacksonville is home. It offers all the benefits of a big city, but the safety and joys of suburbia or a rural community.

Actually, a few people have told me lately that it is on COPS a lot. There are certain areas of town (like any big city) that could probably handle more COPS!
