Please clarify, 1h:22m or (as I was hoping) 1m:22s?
Dreamer.
Unfortunately 1 hour, 22 minutes according to Dick Lugar last night..
If the cameras were not on, this would not be happening.
Wonder if the Dems know that when they lose this confirmation vote today it pre-sages Hillary losing to Condi in the '08 presidential election.
Well it is a nice thought to cross their mind anyway
The debate is still going on? Good grief.
You are correct, O great one. I think more work got done in the Senate and House before they got to mug for the cameras.
The house cleaning at State is delayed another day.
Actually heard McCrazy defending Dr. Rice and criticizing the critics.
Are you sure that each side still wants to use their remaining time or might the charade have ended yesterday?
When do we get a chance to see some pubbie Senator call BubbleHead Boxer on her lies? I'm sick of the Dems' idiotic brain-dead screeching.
it's not a debate. it's a partisian smear designed to nix her chances of a successful run in 2008 for prez. let us call it as it is.
That's why Boxer has continued with these attacks, doing Hillary's dirtywork for 2008.
Lugar up making introductory remarks.
Senate to Likely Get Gonzales Nomination
Wed Jan 26, 3:53 AM ET By JESSE J. HOLLAND, Associated Press WriterWASHINGTON - While Democrats plan to allow quick committee approval of attorney general nominee Alberto Gonzales, they plan extensive debate in the Senate on his qualifications and participation in the Bush administration's war on terror.
The Judiciary Committee (news - web sites) is expected to take its final vote on the nomination on Wednesday.
Democrats don't have enough votes in the Judiciary Committee or on the Senate floor to stop Gonzales' confirmation on an up-or-down vote. Republicans control the committee by 10-8, so unless GOP senators decide not to show up or to vote against Gonzales, the nomination will move on to the full Senate for confirmation.
The Senate is not expected to vote until next week at the earliest.
