> I think it is accurate to say that the atheistic ones ...

... have a sense of humor. There are some nasty ones, of course, but that's true for both sides. ON the atheist side, you *never* see any that basically boil down to "If you don't believe waht I believe, then you're not a *real* American."

There's a car in my parking lot with a sticker that says "Lord, Protect me from Your followers", and I've seen some cars around with "God loves you, but everyone else thinks you're an @#*hole".

No, but quite often you do see it boil down to "If you don't believe what I believe, you're an imbecile."

Well, except for Michael Newdow, who's been getting much more than his fair share of attention lately. Few atheists are of his ilk, fortunately.

"There are some nasty ones, of course, but that's true for both [atheist/religious] sides."

Bullsh*t.

That's the same apologist technique the MSM uses regarding the Dems vs. GOP.

Proportionally, the hostility isn't even close.

Nonsense. There's a whole branch of atheism that's built upon the idea that the Founding Fathers were all rationalist atheists at heart who built a secular Republic and that those who claim otherwise are "not real Americans." Mike Medved had a woman on his show this past Monday who was basically saying exactly that.

No instead you'll hear an atheist say "If you don't believe what I believe, then you're not a *real* DUer."
