Glad to see this getting out. The only issue I have with the article is in blaming GM for mikey being such a douche. My Dad is 5 yrs older than MM, also grew up in Davison, and my Grand-dad also worked for AC. Dad is a good conservative and can't stand MM. My opinion is that he is just defective.

By the way, even if MM was really from Flint, his stories would still be a load of crap. At the time he was coming up, Flint was actually a darn nice city.

During the years 1933-35, Reuther and his brother Victor spent time abroad, including more than 18 months working at the Gorki automobile factory in Josef Stalin’s totalitarian Communist Soviet Union. I love the fact that Michael S'more has the audacity to accuse anyone of being "lazy" and "cowardly."

For someone as obscenely wealthy-and morbidly obese-as Mr. Moore, you'd assume that gastric bypass surgery would be in order.

I suppose that procedure would be too harrowing for the bold, courageous, human dynamo who penned that seminal work in the history of contemporary political nonfiction:

This is a very comprehensive article and the resulting comments are interesting.
There are many of us Christian conservative American workers out here. If it weren't for us President Bush could never have been elected.
We vote our morals.
As a blue collar fellow conservative from the other side of the tracks I will add one more perspective.
Two of the most important men ever in organized labor were mentioned here and they are Walter & Victor Reuther.
No two men have ever done as much to fight for the rights of working people then these two men and to suggest otherwise would be false.
When you protect Americas workers you protect America and this is what they did and they did set an example for others to emulate.
They were strong Americans who ran the U.A.W. in a democratic way and were a major force in our winning world war two and bringing the standard of living up for all Americans.
As a matter of record the International U.A.W. which Victor helped create turned their back on him in his last years of life.I will mention again the Westfall Papers at
westfallmike.tripod.com because Victor Reuther was a friend of Mike Westfall who conducted the 50th anniversary of the U.A.W. in Flint in 1987. For this huge rally for keynote speaker Westfall brought Reuther out of retirement and back to Flint where Reuther helped start the U.A.W. in 1937.To do this Westfall a free thinking but strong unionist went against the International union.
Ironically Moore and Reuther, the two people talked about here, can be found at the westfallmike.tripod.com site.
The Reuther paper is #3 and it gives one of the last speeches he ever gave in it's entirety and it is powerful.
The Michael Moore or so called "MICHAELGATE" paper is paper #1 and it exposes the genesis of Moore.
This is not gossip or third person opinionated material but it is from the actual people that were there and were on the cutting edge fighting the fight.
