More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.
Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.
Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.
Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.

AGAIN WE HAVE A NEW RECORD: 15,103 views on the tote board for the Terri Schindler Schiavo January Daily Thread!
The most significant event in Terri's case in January, was the Supreme's Courts refusal to hear Governor Jeb Bush's appeal, after the Florida State Legislature struck down Terri's Law. This once again places Terri's life in extreme jeopardy, though there are other issues regarding her case before the court.
It's so unbelievable that an animal is more important than Terri to some people.
I remember a copule of years ago a bear attached and killed a child. The bear was killed, I believe it was killed, because they were trying to rescue the child. The girl I was talking to, said "Poor Bear". Never said a word about the child.

I'm so sorry! I never got into Shakespeare when I should have. I was tired of being labelled a geek back then. It wasn't until my own children had to perform Shakespeare at school that I began to see his genius. He was really ahead of his time, wasn't he?

Oh, there's plenty that we can nail Michael on if Greer would just be an honest judge for a change.
Well, in some cases a certain amount of sympathy for the animal would seem appropriate. If, for example, someone climbs over the fence and moat in a zoo and starts harassing an animal, it would seem unfortunate that the animal would have to be harmed as a consequence of the fence-jumper's actions.
Even beyond such cases, there are good, average, and bad animals, and there are good, average, and bad people. I would have no problem saying that even the best animal can't match the worth of even a pretty mediocre persoon, but there are some people I would regard as having less worth than even a nearly-worthless animal (even a nearly-worthless animal has some worth; some people are worse than worthless; some worth is better than negative worth; QED)
All that having been said, of course, your primary point remains valid. Still, given a choice between having my cat fed and having Michael fed, I think I know which I'd prefer.
Basic synopsis of that part of the plot: Bassanio borrowed some money from Shylock, agreeing to forfeit a pound of flesh should he default. As it happened, he did default, and so Shylock went to court to demand his pound of flesh. Portia, disguised as a man, acted as an attourney for Bassanio, and stated that Shylock should be allowed his pound of flesh but as soon as the court ordered that he take it, she informed the court that Shylock should be prosecuted should he remove any bone or blood, or if his measure proved to be anything more or less than a pound exactly. Shylock offered to forgive the debt, but Portia would have none of it since the court had ordered that Shylock take the pound (exactly) of flesh (and only flesh). Shylock pled for the court to revoke the order, which it did after ordering a large forfeiture on Shylock's part.
See where I'm going with this?
If Greer would force Michael to actually attend a deposition where he was questioned by a good pro-Terri lawyer, that would accomplish a lot. Given that Greer refuses to do even that, and has granted perpetual continuances on Michael's guardianship hearings, I wouldn't think anything would cause him to voluntarily revoke Michael's guardianship.

I remember we were taught in gradeschool that those who don't believe in Christ, would go to LIMBO. And that there was something called Baptism by Desire, which meant that God would be able to read someone's heart and mind and decipher if a person who had NO knowledge of Christ (NOT had the knoweledge but didn't believe in Christ), had opportunity to learn about him, they would have chosen to believe in him and thus those souls too would enter heaven.
It never made sense to me, even then. Most people I knew at that time were the same religion as their parents. If my parents had been Jewish for instance, I would have been Jewish. And to me it seemed very unfair of God not to allow me into heaven because my parents were Jewish. My opinion about that has never changed. Other religious instructors I had, and those that raised me, taught us to respect other faiths, and I do. The Blessed Mother at Medjugory said the same thing.
I think good people, who believe in God, even if they don't practice a particular faith, will all one day go to heaven.

If just the rules were followed and equally applied, matters would be resolved so much more fairly.
But we KNOW and well understand JUDGE GREER isn't interested in FAIRNESS or JUSTICE.
I'm trying to. I don't know if it's just late, or what, but I'm having a little trouble discerning who is who. Is Portia = Felos? Who is Michael and who is Terri? I am definitely confused now. I thought I had it straight the first time I read through it, but then I wasn't sure, so I reread it. Now I've read it through so many times with so many different possibilities, I can't figure out which one makes the most sense. Help!
Shylock=Michael/Felos/Greer. Portia=Bush/Gibbs.
Michael Shylock wants his pound of feeding tube; Portia Bush decides that if he must have it, he may but he must not remove an ounce of oral feeding and hydration. Michael decides that this is an impossible requirement, so he pleas to be freed from the order, but Portia Bush doesn't let him off easy and so he is forced to seek exile in Cuba, where he's never heard from again.
Well, something like that. Not a plausible scenario in quite the exact form written, but do you see where I'm going?
Yes, now I do! I wasn't putting Bush into the scheme of things! (See, it is past my bedtime!) Good story, though! So, I take it in the Shakespeare version, Shylock is banished? The Bard had a great idea there!
Glad that you tried. Does he allow a caller to talk about anything, so to speak, or do you need to stick to his subject of the day?
