"Government officials only let the school continue so as to avoid a foreign-relations crisis."

This mindset that seems to infect politicians around the world astounds me.
What they are really saying is,
"If we protect our citizens from these murders, they might get mad at us."

What in the world am I missing here?

German intelligence agencies have closely scrutinized the school and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder been to Riyadh to complain to Saudi leaders about it. Government officials only let the school continue so as to avoid a foreign-relations crisis.

If Schroeder had the fighting instincts of even a French Poodle, he would ask the Saudis for a trade-off. To keep their Muslim school in Germany, the Germans get to establish a 300 pupil Christian school in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudis would have fits, of course, but they shouldn't worry. Where would Schroeder find 300 young German Christians?

The infants-to-teens King Fahd Academy narrowly escaped closure last year after education officials discovered teachers were calling for a holy war against Christendom at school assemblies and the children spent more time in indoctrination than on the three Rs.

This SURPRISED them? ROFL

What do they think Saudi Arabia spends *BILLIONS* a YEAR on these madrassas for? Intelligent, upstanding citizens?

Nah. They do this for cannon fodder. Cannon fodder doesn't have to be educated. Just enough to slap on a belt and push a button.

If they think that schools are warping people, they better REALLY start looking to their mosques which are also saudi funded.

EVERYONE needs to look to their mosques and "schools" if the Saudi's are funding them.

A "Koran school" should be assumed to be sponsoring terrorists until proven otherwise.

I wonder if this school is supported in any way by the German gov't (i.e. through the equivalent of vouchers?)
