Calif needs to send questionnaire's to the public asking if they object to cutting down trees in an effort to better control fires, then after the next fire they can divide the bill between all those that objected, demand it be payed in 30 days and fine those that don't pay or pay late. THAT would end the debate real quick.

This on Federal lands, the Natl Forest, the state has no jurisdiction.

CA began working on the Sierra Plan 15 years ago, with the co-operation of Clinton and his Interior Dept.

Bush entered office just as this plan was to be approved. He replaced the Regional Forester who wrote another plan.
