Witnesses said that the missile was fired from an unknown plane 12 miles from the city,' Iran's Arabic language Al-Alam said.

"A local source said the explosion could have been the result of the falling of an empty fuel tank from an Iranian plane," Al-Alam said.

this whole thing just doesn't pass the smell test . . .

You're right - how do "witnesses" from 12 miles away know anything ? Was this plane only a few hundred feet above ground level when he "oopsed" a fuel tank that landed 12 miles away ?

Someone aced the creative excuse test.
