I think the reality show format is better. It's pretty sad to see the original format go, but that's just how it is.

It is sad. I always thought of Miss America as kind of the feminine ideal. In a non-sexist way. :) Pretty, smart, talented, articulate, etc. I guess it's just too old-fashioned for today's market.
