Sixth Circuit Court Judge George Greer ruled late Monday afternoon that George Felos and Michael Schiavo cannot implement their stated plan to withdraw the gastric feeding tube of Terri Schindler-Schiavo until a hearing is held on Weds, Feb 23 to determine if the stay in effect from Greer's 2000 death order should remain in place while her parents, Mary and Robert Schindler Sr., continue with their legal options in trying to keep her alive.
The Schindlers had hoped to convince the court that starving Terri to death would violate her religious liberties. As a Catholic, the Schindlers contend Terri would not want to have her life ended.
If anyone ever deserved a second chance, it's Terri Schiavo, the central figure in a battle for the rights of the handicapped. She has no idea of the controversy swirling about her, and has been unaware of the fight for her life since she collapsed of a potassium deficiency in 1990. But regardless of the why and how, Terri's collapse starved her brain of oxygen, and she has never been mentally or physically revived past a semi-vegetative state.

Well - between this thread and the Jim Rob - Moderator Question thread, I've been stuck at this computer instead of doing something useful. A pretty day and my dogs need to be walked.

Recently, another presumed “brain-dead” woman made news in Kansas. In a coma after becoming the victim of a drunk driver, Sarah Scantlin snapped out of a twenty year silence and began to speak. Memories are now coming back to her. By legal definition, Miss Scantlin’s life is valid. Yesterday, it was not. Was she ever in a persistent vegetative state, or PVS? She’d respond to questions by blinking once for no, twice for yes, but since she couldn’t speak no one was ever sure she understood the questions.

And you've seen these things; witnessed them with your own eyes? Seen them in person? Or have you been told these things? Or have you witnessed heavily edited tapes? Let me guess.
Not so long ago a few of the more adamant and prolific posters to these threads, claimed that Terri was actively communication with nursing staff through eye-blinks and eye-shifting. They announced that they had sworn witnesses and further that these witnessed were going to come forward in the very near future.
Never ever happened. No eye-communication whatsoever. No blinking. No rapid eye shifting. Nothing. Further, there were no witnesses nor experts willing to testify to this miracle. Nothing. Yet the Terri advocates brow beat, belittled and berated those who would question their "facts".
Nothing has changed.
How some can't see the similarity to abortion is beyond me.
I just cannot believe this man is making all these decisions without having seen this woman.

Desparate are we?
Sarah was never called "brain-dead, nor was she ever described as being in a "persistent vegetative state". She was, as stated, in a coma. There is a vast difference.
Furthermore, Ms. Scantlin was able to communicate with the medical staff with eye blinks. "One for yes two for no"
As to the investigation, the cause of Terri's mishap has been determined by a trial Court and jury, or are all of those jury members part of the conspiracy to murder Terri too?

I have spent the last 5 days researching and posting on them on at my blog--- you have been given the links to the other places that do provide affidavits of people, You are the one that has NOT done your homework..
I can't be responsible for what anyone else says or posts here..... In fact- I have seen things here that I would never consider credible, so I understand you asking...
But I certainly would want to be doing some research and homework BEFORE I ever aligned myself with supporting a cheating husband the right to starve his wife to death.
If my 4 yr old daughter were in the EXACT situation- I would be crucified by the media.
Imagine me begging the courts to give me $$$$$ so I could get her the therapy and care she needed, and then the day I get the check- I stop all therapy to her.... Then suddenly I get some religion that says "Hmmmmm, I don't believe in life support, stop feeding her...."
If food is considered life support, I wonder how many parents in prison for starving and neglecting to feed their kids will be lining up in courts for appeals.....
Agreed. That's slightly less sickening than the fact that Schiavo is pushing for it to happen. Common sense would dictate that you go and see for yourself what the situation is before granting a request like this.
