I am not sure if I have "a leg to stand on".

You forgot to mention what it is that you "may not have a leg to stand on"...

Are you quoting a state law? or a federal law? Here, in California, I am facing a similar decision soon. But I am trying to find an attorney group for help.

Abood v. Detroit Board of Ed. was a federal case.
"leg to stand on" was a mere colloquialism .

In the Abood and Keller cases, the Supreme Court ruled that requiring dues from a dissenting individual to pay for ideological activities is unconstitutional if the funded activities fall outside the goals of the organization

Interesting...and supposedly the remedy is to go find an organization that you agree with and send your portion to that org.

It's a logistics nightmare, IMO, much akin to the United Way Myth that says you can direct your donation to a particular group.
