Hillary Actively Working, Seeking Staff For 2008 Presidential Run Now / All Denials Are Lies
USNWR ^

Posted on 03/02/2005 1:03:35 AM PST by MindBender26

The 2008 Five Five Democrats have begun informal staff interviews for 2008 presidential runs, according to a few who've been interviewed. So far, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is dubbed "the most aggressive" in seeking out aides, followed by Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack . The others are Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards , and 2004 candidate Sen. John Kerry .

----whether or not I am the dreaded RINO, because I believe in a woman's choice in the first trimester----

Oh, I did pick upon that. It's just that it gripes me to no end that any conservative should feel the need to state he has gay friends. It's like "I have Jewish friends" or "I have black friends".

I told my [gay] brother when he voted for BC, that conservatives will stand up for the constitutional rights of *everyone*, but will not pander to the gay lobby. Whereas BC would promise them everything and screw them whenever it suited his needs - which he did, and the DemocRats always do.

I have moral and practical reservations RE 1st trimester abortions; however, I also realize one cannot put the toothpaste back in the tube. I don't agree that your thoughts on it "disqualify" you from conservative status.

I do take issue with calling it a woman's right to choose. She may carry & bear the child, but it is not a possession owned by her. Nor is it the immaculate conception (hint, hint :)

PBA is infanticide, period.

This is not the thread for a long discussion on abortion. later on that.

I had a [very] good time, too. But for me it was the recreational side of my life, never a statement of political philosophy. I have always been a conservative, even when seriously stoned. I never seemed to be able to get on the Free Love bus, though....it was always gone when I got to the bus station ;-)

A young "J.C. Watts-type" candidate in Mississippi:

George Fassitt, African-American GOP Candidate for Biloxi City Council Ward Six.
George Fassitt, a successful mortgage broker and ordained minister, is attempting to become the first African-American Republican to sit on the Biloxi, Mississippi City Council. Mr. Fassitt, who is a conservative, is a business/economics graduate of the University of Kansas-Wesleyan, where he also played basketball, and has a masters in theology from Lighthouse Christian College. Mr. Fassitt is currently pursuing a doctorate in theology. Although Mr. Fassitt is an attractive, well-spoken candidate, his opposition has deep pockets, so any assistance would be appreciated. Campaign contributions may be sent to: Campaign to Elect George Fassitt P.O. Box 4201 Biloxi MS 39535

that's very cute...couldn't get on the Free Love bus because it always left the station. I'm smiling.

Yeah, me, too. Couldn't escape the conservative side: it has been so engrained in me (dad ran for congress). and my belief in God is what kept me from losing it completely.

Thanks for a good discussion.

Unfortunately, with total control of the Media, she can.

She has a good chance to win, in my opinion.

from Hillary's Secret War, by Poe, p. 65:

"'Collin's exclusive interview with Tripp appeared in the December/January 2001 issue of George...

"After meeting Mrs. Clinton for the first time, I said to a couple of people close to the president, 'She's truly remarkable,' and the response was, 'Eight years for him, eight years for her. That's the plan.' "'

GOP selection will be important. Also important will be: the US must get the Iraqi army in place to handle Iraqi security by 11/2008 or, in my opinion, Hillary will win. The US military can still be there, protecting the border, acting as an occasional backup.

But if US troops are doing daily patrols in Baghdad in 11/2008, its Hillary in the White House, 1/2009.

A second issue that I am starting to see as central, is the Mexican border/illegal immigration/legal immigration issue. I am starting to believe that this is an issue that may split the Republican party to its core and hurt unity. Personally, that lack of unity is my biggest fear. For this reason, I hope we can work through the issue to find some kind of party consensus by 11/2008.

With total control over the Media, it will be easier than you think.

Hopefully. According to Hillary's Secret War, the Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists, the bloggers never quite got there with Ron Brown and Vince Foster. He implies that Monica-gate was actually covered by the Media as a distraction to cover Ron Brown's murder.

I'm with you. the idea of Hillary being President is not "fun" to me. It has the cold chill of death feeling to it.

There is no total control of the media anymore. The internet and radio has rendered TV nearly a joke.

Yeah! Met him and his wife, got his signature on my copy of book. He has the worst signature ever! (looks like a sketch of a pair of eyeglasses.) But his book is the absolute best!

Notice, as he details, however, the Clintons got away with murder on Vince Foster & Ron Brown, despite Internet.

p. 170, Hillary's Secret War:

"It looked bad for the Clintons. The furor over Ron Brown's death was spilling over into black media...

[Christopher]Ruddy [later founder of NewsMax] told Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post on January 12, 1998 that the White House was 'panicking'. His appearances on BET and Rivera Live showed that "The Brown issue has got real legs," said Ruddy. "This story is not going to go away and they can't write it off as conspiracy theory..."

But Ruddy was wrong. The Ron Brown scandal fizzled out like all Clinton scandals. The White House stonewalled. The Justice Department dithered. The press looked the other way.

Then, ironically, it turned out to be Matt Drudge who delivered the coup de grace. he broke the Monica Lewinsky story on January 17, 1998---five days after Ruddy's write up in the Washington Post. Big Media jumped on the Lewinsky story with a zeal it had never shown for any other Clinton scandal. It was as if Ron Brown never existed."

Add "Ron Brown."

Unfortunately, she can, and already has, hidden from all of them so far. With Big Media behind her, it is, seemingly, easy. the only real breakthrough I saw from the Internet to Big Media was The Swift Boat Vets.

And you know, I hate to say it, but its possible that Hillary was even behind allowing that access (ie, that Hillary helped make Kerry's defeat possible, in some ways.) To clear her own path, when the time is right (2008.)

Have you read Hillary's Secret War, the Clinton Conspiracy to Muzzle Internet Journalists, by Richard Poe?

It is great. I have not read Unlimited Access, at least not yet. I may have to pause before doing so, to facilitate my ability to sleep at night!

Maybe. But it seems like the political process is getting more and more extended. As an Alleghenny County (the county that includes Pittsburgh, PA) Republican staffer said at a campaign 2004 meeting in October 2004, "It's like the Super Bowl out there! People honking their horns! [at Bush and Kerry signs on cars.]"

Well, this Senator George Allen of Virginia is running. He used to be Governor of Virginia, so that's a plus (in terms of experience governing.) I think he was a player in the NFL. Don't know much about him.

We have to break through further than we have so far, I'm afraid, to beat Hillary in 2008.

from Hillary's Secret War, by Poe, p. 83:

"Unlimited Access became a numner-one New York Times bestseller and sold half a million copies. Aldrich could have reached tens of millions more with his message, through television, but Big Media largely succeeded in keeping him off the major talk shows."

I got Poe's signature on the book at CPAC and talked to him. I agree 100 percent on the book.

It was really cool talking to him. Unfortunately, I had only skimmed the book at the time I met him, having discovered it at CPAC itself 2 days earlier.

One key insight in the book is that the Clinton's largely succeeded in trumping the Internet with Big Media. I am afraid that the defeat of Gore and Kerry may have happened, in part, because Hillary did not really want them to win, and probably preferred that they lose.
