The 2008 Five Five Democrats have begun informal staff interviews for 2008 presidential runs, according to a few who've been interviewed. So far, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is dubbed "the most aggressive" in seeking out aides, followed by Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack . The others are Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh, former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards , and 2004 candidate Sen. John Kerry .

Hillary's run will be fun to watch -she is firmly joined at the hip with some heavy baggage (billy boy) LOL...

Interesting triangulations to be forthcoming will involve Christianity, homosexuality and abortion....

Upstaging President Bush....makes very good sense. Thanks for the wise foresight.

Knowledge is power - if you know it about the right person. Regarding Hillary Clinton, it is imperative that we keep close tabs on her Senate record, on any verbal slip-ups. In short, if we keep her close, she may very well slip up under the pressure.

Hillary may be wise, but she has a short fuse and a big mouth, and that can hurt her.

"Who cares? She won't be President. There are too many others out there who are sharper, brighter and know what they are talking about. let hillereee run. It might end up being the best comedy show ever."

Who, just who can stay ahead of Hillary? Any Republican candidate is going to be smeared, defamed, named a far-right conspirator, etc. Hillary will have all the MSM quote bytes! (or is it BITES?) It's already been a political propaganda war.

Republicans are too refined and conservative to meet toe to toe Democrats' ad hominem propaganda.

Keep the NET free and open, no matter what.

One does not interview "agressively" for staffers for a campaing one does not intend to run!

Perhaps I missed it, but when did she ever deny she was planning to run for President in 2008?

She has evaded the question, and she has said she's focussed on being re-elected to the Senate in 2006. But unlike in 2000, when she promised to serve out her Senate term (and kept that promise), she has made no such promise for her next term.

IMO, the wackos like MoveOn.org and RocktheVote.com, and the Hollywood crowd
helped GWB this last election. They ruffled an underlying moral base of middle America who rebeled against their anger, their disrespect, their bazaare antics.

Should be a fun campaign to watch. I am most interested to see how they go after her while campaigning. And then if she is the nominee, I hope the Republicans push hard. Truthfully, I think all of them on both sides are afraid of her.

As she should be at this stage whether one knows if they are going to run or not.... The best advisers, coordinators, fund raisers, state organizers, etc. will be taken up early so if one maybe going to enter the fray they need to get their campaign structures in place.

I personally don't think she'll run simply because I don't think she will want the scrutiny that will come with a national campaign for president. She was able to basically pick and choose and manager her media events during the senatorial campaign.... That won't be the option during a presidential primary and campaign. I don't think she can handle that. jmo.

" He could have given the GOP a run for their money until he voted against Condi Rice and Alberto Gonzalez..."

My exact thoughts on the exact same two issues. He was a perfect candidate until those votes. He was a fairly conservative Governor - the D's could have dressed him up as the next Bill Clinton.

He probably blew his chance to be President by being elected a Senator.
