They are also a rally for anti-American Marxism.
Mel Gibson ping
I think of the Oscars as a little more than a puddle of virulent bodily excretions.
Mel is right in saying that the Oscars are a joke.
On another note, as one who doesn't have the stomach for violent movies, I was not at all shocked by the violence in his movie "The Passion", just saddened at what people are capable of. I think it was something I needed to see in order to fully understand what Jesus went through on the way to the cross. It was not exactly a walk in the park! I appreciate the honesty in this film.
"My film is not right wing or political, but they made it so," he said.
Mel hits it right on the head here, too.
That's good news. I've always enjoyed him in front of the camera as well. Hoping for MadMax IV! ;-)
.
MEL's -PASSION- was about our Past and our Future
MEL's -FATIMA- will explain what we can do about both in the Present
MEL GIBSON =
The Spiritual gift that just keeps on giving
I would love to see a Fatima movie done by Mel, although he should be careful to not bring up too much conspiracy about the Third Secret as that would distract from the main message of Fatima.
Seeing the Passion in a movie may be more difficult than reading about it, but there was nothing unusually violent or bloody about Mel Gibson's treatment.
Take this brilliant poem of George Herbert's, for instance:
THE AGONY
Philosophers have measured mountains,
Fathom'd the depths of seas, of states, and kings,
Walk'd with a staff to heaven, and traced fountains
But there are two vast, spacious things,
The which to measure it doth more behove:
Yet few there are that sound them; Sin and Love.
Who would know Sin, let him repair
Unto Mount Olivet; there shall he see
A man, so wrung with pains, that all his hair,
His skin, his garments, bloody be.
Sin is that Press and Vice, which forceth pain
To hunt his cruel food through every vein.
Who knows not Love, let him assay,
And taste that juice, which on the cross a pike
Did set again abroach; then let him say
If ever he did taste the like.
Love is that liquor sweet and most divine,
Which my God feels as blood; but I, as wine.
by George Herbert 1593-1633
Sure so we could have a movie about a drug addict instead.
it's a gathering of those who have spent more time in drug rehab then college classrooms yet feel thet are smart enough to tell us how the country should be run....it's an effin joke.
Well, I think "blasts the Oscars", used in the headline is a little strong for the quotes they used. He was critical of them, but made valid points. The campaigns for Oscars do cost a lot of money, including ads and sometimes hundreds of copies of the DVDs sent to Academy members. They are a marketing tool, and become less relevant each year.
Jesus to Fatima...from Fact to Fiction...
Gibson's film won the Peoples Choice Award for "favorite film drama".Moore's won for "favorite picture". Both new categories.
However, the People's Choice Awards were the lowest rated show in its history with "Desperate Housewives" scored 8.6 rating/19 share in the 18-49 demographic, 20.0 million viewers overall. "24" scored 6.3 rating/14 share in adults 18-49 from 8 to 9 and then a 5.9/12 (and 14.3 million viewers overall) in its second hour. Meanwhile, "Law and Order: Criminal Intent" came in third at 4.0/8 in 18-49, 13.3 million. And "People's Choice"? A lowly 3.3/7 in 18-49, 9.9 million -- down 20 percent from last year.
The People's Choice awards were once considered the mainstream America's pick for best films. However, now with internet voting easily manipulated to increase votes and unaudited (for example): Moore had directed on his website: "OK, now, here's the best part: YOU get to vote! Online. Now. Just go to http://www.pcavote.com/voting/film/f01.shtml, click on the little circle next to 'Fahrenheit 9/11' in the 'Favorite Movie' category and press the 'vote' button."
How credible is that? I am surprised Gibson made that comment.
He screened it privately for Rush Limbaugh, obviously to get the right wing on board, then blames others for making it right wing and political. Interesting.

Isn't it really something how the Socialist have taken EVERYTHING AMERICAN and Everything that makes America Great and smeared it, disgraced it and twisted it. Still the TRUTH and the AMERICAN SPIRIT reigns supreme!!
Now we have to throw them out of office, off of the benches and clean out the churches and schools. We must takw our country back from these Socialist Eletist fools. Enough is enough, starting with the Judicial Ativist Judges, we must demand the President remove these judges and the sooner the better.

Plans and considering are not equivalent terms.
A film about the Maccabees or Fatima would be nice (though the 1952 Fatima film is great). But what I would love to see would be "Vatican II: The Movie -- by Mel Gibson." That would be fantastic!!!!
I dread a Mad Max 4. There was so much wrong with MM3 -- especially the loss of input from Byron Kennedy (may he rest in peace). Too much potential for disaster in a MM4.
