Supporters like the Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the
Christian Defense Coalition say they expect people to
try to enter the Woodside Hospice to “rescue” Terri
Schiavo if her feeding tube is removed. The Pinellas
Park Police has officers stationed in the parking lot
and inside the front doors of the hospice in case those
threats are attempted.
The Florida Legislature is now working on a bill that
Governor Bush says he will sign into law that would
prevent the removal of Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube.
The bill should be on the floor for debate by mid-
Friday.
Terri Schiavo has been in what doctors call a
persistent vegetative state since she collapsed from a
heart attack in 1990. Terri’s Schiavo’s husband Michael
Schiavo told a local newspaper that Terri would not
want to live this way and that the government should
stay out of family business.
Does anybody know what happened in the House? By the time I read this and turned on C-Span, they were getting ready to go to "special orders." They couldn't have had time to vote, so did anybody see what went on?

this might be a stupid question. If they remove the feeding tube, can she survive? I know that is how she intakes food and water, but can she swallow food on her own? Wouldn't it be a miracle if she lived on her own after they pull the feeding tube? Or is that just ridiculous to think.
The House did vote. The bill was passed by a voice vote.
Judge Greer ruled that she's not allowed any food or water by mouth either.

Bless them. Surely there ate few hundred men in the Tampa area with a pair and a spine, that will show up to support what Mahoney is cooking up.
... and no, that's not at all ridiculous to think she could survive this by eating and drinking on her own. She would need therapy before she can swallow enough to sustain her, but she does swallow.
There was debating back and forth for about a half an hour--
The dems seemed to oppose it for 3-4 different reasons, in other words they were grasping...
The Reps had Sensenbrenner presenting the bill, with 3 other reps. that are actual medical doctors---each one said that from what they can tell, Terri ISN'T in a persistent vegetative state, and that they feel that her constitutional rights are not being considered---
When the dems kept objecting because they didn't have enough time for endless hearings and meetings, and when the abortion excuse was over, Sensenbrenner made the comment that had congress acted like they are, when the civil rights of black people were being trampled, things would be a whole lot different in America than it is now...
Anyway, the person with the gavel called for a voice vote or yeas and nays and she said the yeas won...she pounded the gavel and it was over..
No roll call vote--so I guess it passed, but I am not as "up" on house procedures as I am senate procedures.
I do know though, that after it was over, Rep. Jim McDermott got up and went ballistic about them "sneaking in a vote on this bill in the dead of night, at the last minute"---

Oh I hadn't heard that. Well, that just makes me even more furious! So the intent is to actually kill her. I guess I'm a little slow here. There could still be a miracle. God can do anything. If I were Judge Greer, I'd be careful of mocking God. He has a way of getting His own way. Greer will lose if he decides to box with God.

Although I appreciate your gracious nature, I do not believe the Lord Jesus' words on the cross are appropriate here. Actually may God damn them, unless they repent, for they know exactly what they are doing.
