I have a friend in Clearwater.....she's been asking me to come visit; I had previously thought of going vacationing there, to see her and visit Disney World.....have previously even entertained the idea of moving to retire in Florida, as I have been asked to do.
nope....NEVER.
I will never again go to Florida. NEVER spend a dime purchasing anything, knowingly, from Florida. Never purchase anything online again from any business from Florida.
When I am solicited to purchase anything in the future from any Florida business, I will tell them why my money will not purchase their products: What they've collectively done to Terri Schaivo.
That is the real way to get something accomplished. I feel the same way.
We have loved Florida for all our lives!

But with all this mess coming out of there, I can see my Southern breeding and love of life will keep us away from there for retirement!

There are some truly decent people in Florida, FV and other freepers, a couple of friends I have that moved there, but it doesn't look good as to the percentage of decent people there. My personal experience with Floridians is a seasonal one here in the north Georgia mountains. I wouldn't have thought it before I moved here, but it has been almost fifty-fifty regarding the split between the decent and the awful.
The worst was a guy who preyed on the terminally ill down there by defrauding them through his viatical trust company. Death is big business down there, seemingly moreso than other states. A few I've met have permanently moved away to live here in the mountains, and not surprisingly, they are decent and honest people.
I think it would help if you could possibly see your way to visit your friend now....and spend your time at the hospice.....

Perhaps all the prayer that has been prayed for Terri will lift the Evil in Florida. I believe the stronghold of the Scientology people, have alot to do with the evil in Clearwater.
