What's pathetic about keeping her alive? What's pathetic about letting Terri's parents take care of her as they wish?
There is nothing pathetic about assisting another to stay alive. It is "propitiation" that is pathetic, and part of the "vicitm" mentality.
We cannot defend ourselves against "life" and when we try it rolls over us like a steam roller.
This woman has been through the mill. If you were in her position, assuming you could even think in that condition, you would probably want to leave now. Why is it so important to keep her soul bound inside this disfuctional body? Let her go.
Probably the "right" thing would be for the proceeds from the malpractice suit to be turned over to the parents who could then afford to keep her around as long as they liked. But that would be an excercize for their benefit, not hers. She needs to wrap it up so she can move on.
