I'm hung up with the whole infinite mass issue. That is an illusion. Too bad we can't use the math they use in physics these days to make nice easy pictures. Just imagine that space can be bunched up like a rug so you can step one step and find yourself at the next star or the next galaxy immediately. That's one of the easier images.
